Tryng to Make Things Right

Post by Pheasy »

Well I am not bothering anymore! I try to be genuine in what I say. Try not to criticize, just point out strengths and weakness. Try to make the world a better place ... well it looks like most are not ready for that! Whatever I say offends, even though I said it with my heart. I said what I thought were US strengths, they need to grab that and stop letting their country sh1t on them.....Sorry If that made me bad ... I just felt you were worth more than the cr4p you put up with ... up to you I guess! See ya!

Actually, that's the way I read what you said. I wasn't here at the time to tell you so, but I don't think I would've thought to even If I were. Didn't think of it.

Anyway, I felt like you were giving support as a frustrated friend. Something like "why do you put up with that?!?"

Hey Pheasy I hope ya not going to leave:( You should be able to speak your opinions if people cant take it its their problem not yours. Just ignore the negative people there are plenty of positive people who are very happy to hear your opinions :-4

Pheasy, I don't understand. Are you directing this toward me? If so, there's really no call for this. I wasn't offended. We were all talking. I just don't happen to agree with you about most of what you said. Surely you're not in a snit because I didn't thank you for painting a picture of my country that I felt was inaccurate? I listened. (Err...read) I just don't agree. And another member didn't either apparently which is their right. It doesn't make anyone bad, it's simply a disagreement.

Now put your big girl panties on and come on back! :D

I'm glad you took that with the humor I said it in, Pheasy. :)

So zip off a PM to Kathy Ellen and let her know how you feel. She's very understanding.

For what it's worth, I thought our conversation was going well. Please don't think Americans are above reproach or that we think we're without flaw because that's not it. We know better. I guess we'd have to be in your spot to see things the way you do, the same way you'd have to be an American to know how we feel. That's fair.

There's no need for you to be upset about this stuff. I mean nobody was arguing! Did you realize that? :D

I caught up and saw the thread, I thought it was a great debate thread as RG pointed out. I agree and disagree with some points brought up, but will stay out of it for now since I really don't have the time on my hands to explain myself properly.

I will say, Pheasy...you are a sweet and sensitive person, we all know this, and I wasn't offended when you called Americans rude, it made me sad...definately....not sure it will change overnight, sure wish it would...I long for the days when you could go into a store and someone was smiling and not almost knocking you over to get out of there, because they were in such a hurry. (no, I know it doesn't happen always, just using an example of the current days...)

Okay, I said I wouldn't go into this and I need to get to my school work and job huntin'....

Good Night for now!:)

Hopefully what I'm saying did not come across wrongly. I wasn't saying all American people are rude ... hell my best friends are American. :-4 I just think that the way Americans treat each other sometimes is appalling! Like I said before, my best example is your customer service, and everyone just puts up with it! If some of the people who served the public over here, were in the UK (and I use the UK as an example, as thats what I know), they would be without a job! Example, waiter/waitresses expecting to get 15/20% tip! and they get it regardless of how they are .... well not from me! If they don't treat me right (a lot are damn right rude!) they get nothing! I have also given tips that way exceed the 20% when I finally get a decent service.

Anyway, how did this start again ... :thinking:oh yes, I just think that America should start looking after their own a bit more, and stop interfering with other countries so much. Just my thoughts ... a little pea in a large bag :D

You would be surprised, Pheasy, how many Americans feel the way you do about "Americans looking after their own first." I hear it all the time.

I guess the problem is when folks generalize attributes to one goup of people.;)

Pheasy I'll agree to that because if people don't want our help, then we shouldn't be going where we're not appreciated. I'm sick of all the charity too. Just yesterday I read about doctors who are fixing a foreign girl's clubfeet FOR FREE. We even flew her and her mom over here and we're putting them up. What are they doing for OUR kids?

Sometimes when Im really really angry at a group of people, like the people that live in Madagascar for instance, Ive been extremely upset with that bunch lately, I just burn some patchouli incense and put on my wifes underwear.

That really helps.

I agree, my friends husband (he has 3 little girl 1/2/3 grade) is dying of cancer with no money left to pay for medical bills - why is his country not helping him! :(

Luckily for his family Oprah did help, thanks to her show he can die knowing his children and wife will have a roof over their heads and a scholarship for the future. Why didn't his country help him ?

Is your friend's husband not American, or did you mean government when you wrote country?
