Does what you wear determine how you feel about yourself and what others think about you?
Every morning from Monday to Friday I put on my CEO suit and tie and drive to the office in my Mercedes Benz Sportsline ...
When I get there I am greeted by very polite "good morning sir" and such like ...
I visit the homes of wealthy successful people who show me their Georgian hallmarked silver wine funnels ... their Royal Worcester urns ... their Lalique bowls and their Galle vases ...
Yet every weekend when I pull on my torn blue jeans ... my faded tee shirts and my sneakers and my favourite niece aged 13 sees me she says .." Howzit Jj or hi J ..." She doesn't give a toss about how important I might be in the business world and nor do I ...
And I love her much more than all those rich snobs who believe that THEIR assets
and THEIR time are so so more important ...
Makes you think ... doesn't it?

It's really you they love and not the suit and tie bit. And at the pubnutter's there is no dress code.

what you wear makes all the difference in the world in what people think of you!
i'm in blue jeans and t-shirts 90% of the time and am fine with it, i could care less what people think if i run to the grocery store or something like that, but if i dress up, say i go somewhere after church and I'm still in my church clothes the looks on peoples faces are completely different. i found that people are nicer to you when you're dressed up, they smile more, they will talk to you quicker, but i don't have the time to be dressing up everytime i want to go somewhere and why should i let others dictate how i present myself?

I dont give a stuff about what people think of me with the clothes I wear. I like to be comfortable and that makes me happy and thats what is important. When I worked I had to dress up and I hated it but thats just something you have to do.

Yes, how you dress affects the way people respond to you. It happens very early: one of the reasons for school uniforms is to cut down on kids picking on eachother for what they wear. I'd add hairstyle and (in half the cases) make-up to the list of things you "wear" as well. Possibly your car, too...
The crowd: "Yes! We are all individuals!"
Lone voice: "I'm not."

Dress marks the starting point of communication. What a person sees places you in a certain category in their head.
I wear a suit to school. I dress better than almost every other teacher, even better than the vice principals. :wah:
The other teachers dress to establish a rapport with their students. They try to free their minds and imaginations, and the best way to do that is to make the students comfortable ... to be a friend (almost).
My job is to get kids who can't behave to learn to behave. They don't behave for friends. They need an alpha dog to be the example of how they should behave. I am that alpha dog. My suit is my alpha dog uniform. From the first sight, I am established as the head guy in charge. It saves a lot of time.
