Love him or loathe him, nobody deserves this. Pray for Ted Kennedy.

BOSTON — For much of his life, Sen. Edward Kennedy has taken on the role of caregiver, watching over the country's most storied political family after tragedies, pushing for sweeping health care, retirement and education legislation, and other social-welfare programs.
Now he is the one in need after being diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. Some experts gave the liberal icon less than a year to live.

Yes, that was front page news in Ireland today, as obviuously the fortunes of the Kennedys are always of interest here in Ireland. Sad. But at least he made it out of his 40s without getting shot.

The high profile men in the family seem prone to horrible deaths. I'm still mourning John Jr. :-1

Never thought much of any of the Kennedy's but don't wish death on 'em.

For what outcome are we praying, out of interest? Immediate death without suffering? Miraculous remission? Retirement from public office? Forgiveness of sins?
Nullius in verba ... ☎||||||||||| ... To Fate I sue, of other means bereft, the only refuge for the wretched left.
When flower power came along I stood for Human Rights, marched around for peace and freedom, had some nooky every night - we took it serious.

How about peace of mind for him and his loved ones in the time he has left? Will that work for ya Spot?

It's not what I'd ask for if it were me.

Immediate death of course. I never asked to be born, it's been an unwelcome and unforgivable imposition.

That's brilliant! :wah:
How about praying/hoping that the man has a minimum of suffering? He's already had at least two seizures that the public knows about. It'd be less painful for him and his family if he could die with a little dignity and quality of life rather than what a malignant brain tumor typically does to a person:
The following symptoms are most common:
Headache
Weakness
Clumsiness
Difficulty walking
Seizures
Other nonspecific symptoms and signs include the following:
Altered mental status: changes in concentration, memory, attention, or alertness
Nausea, vomiting: especially early in the morning
Abnormalities in vision
Difficulty with speech
Gradual changes in intellectual or emotional capacity

I also would not wish suffering on anyone. As far as his being a care giver goes... maybe he was trying to repent for leaving a young girl trapped in the back seat of his car, to drown and die... so many years ago. Ive never been able to think of him, without thinking of that girl.

I hope you don't actually expect an answer.
Y'know what's ironic? This was his post just before the "Pretentious!" one.

You and I are in agreement on that, Weeder.
Also I am thinking about the other folks who have recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor.....who are not famous or rich. I pray for them too.
