Strategy on fighting oil prices

Post by mikeinie »

With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea:

For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP.

If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!!

Hi Mike

I was chatting with some friends about this the other day.

I always try and support my local petrol stations rather than the big ones.

Our local radio station has a "petrol watch" announcement every morning where they tell you the cheapest place to get your fuel. I'm amazed at some of the differences in cost!
Very nearly perfect ... :D

Great idea Mike but it wont work in England as unlike say France we just sit back and take all that is thrown at us.The petrol at my local garage now is £1.17 a LITRE which is over £5 a gallon....the thing is 67p a litre is tax and going up again soon....we are actually paying even now with the huge increases more in tax then we are in oil.:(

Sounds like a good idea but the problem is they don't make the big money selling at the local gas pump, the make it exploring and selling at the wholesale level to others.
