I find the question more curious than the subject.

People are always trying to pigeon hole others, categorize them and regulate what they should or shouldnt be allowed to do.

As long as children arent involved I dont give a rats ass who is having sex with who.

It just doesnt interest me and I have to wonder about people that have opinions on it. Makes me suspicious of them.

My point is its none of my business. I saw 2 guys kissing on a downtown street last month and it was unsettling for me but I didnt judge them.

Ok look if it were 2 beautiful women or 2 men of any type Id pick the women. The fact is that most of the lesbians Ive seen arent what you might hope they would be. Many of them are lets say...rough around the edges and often have an abrasive personality in which case Id rather not see any of it.

More socially acceptable ? Dont know but guess more guys get turned on by girl on girl action than the thought of 2 guys.

Also I think more women are possible of understanding that its about the love of the person more than the love of the gender.

I think if they are loving adults leave them to it.

Society as a whole does not find any unconventional behavior acceptable. There are always pockets of people in society who find anything and everything acceptable. The decision to pursue a bi sexual lifestyle is a personal decision, socially acceptable doesnt enter into it. Those who choose a bi sexual lifestyle, dont give a rats ass about what society finds acceptable anyway.

you done very well red ... there are no italians in my family tree (well not as far as i am aware) but the guys ... and i have no brothers only sisters.... so its cousins and uncles mainly ... do hug and kiss when we meet up at family gatherings ...

i know that many men are uncomfortable with this manner of greeting but it is not considered "girlielike" in my family ...

as for the part that puts you off ... i couldn't agree more ... to each his own of course ... but i think if i had the choice and i do ... i'd rather watch a gay female couple before i watched a gay male couple ...

having said that .. i am in the antique and fine art business so i have many gay male customers and they are very very nice people ...

JJ, thanks. I hope I didn't offend anyone. Your question drew me in because I have often wondered why I'm discomforted by men and not women. You know, tried to figure it out. I have known lesbian women and even had a few make a move on me and although strange it was also flattering for the most part. And I had a good friend who was gay and he and I would go out together for lunch or whatever and he would actively check out other men. That made me uncomfy and that's when I started trying to sort out my reaction because it didn't seem fair.

i have a guy who works for me who is very very good looking ... he is married but he looks slightly like feminine in a sort of male way if you know what i mean ...

many of the local gay community who attend our antique auctions go weak at the knees whenever he even walks past them let alone smiles!

the same happens when he and i go out and eat at a restaurant ... only there i guess they think he and i are an item so they are more subtle ... both he and i find this quite funny but sometimes when his wife is with us she gets a bit uptight when she sees the guys checking him out ...

i have wanted to ask him if maybe he is like in the closet but because he is married i haven't ... he also a damn good auctioneer so i don't wanna lose him ...

I believe it's more of a question of aesthetics... go back in history, to near the decline of the Roman Empire (or back to the ancient Greeks where homosexuality was considered acceptable amongst the elite) , when the male body was considered to be more visually appealing and bi-sexuality was rampant and rather acceptable in society... most works of art back then portraying female bodies, were in fact based on male models... artists essentially just added breasts and removed the "dangly bits"... :wah:

Anyway, in today's society... it's mostly about the beauty of the female body. Nowadays, whether male or female, we tend to perceive the female body as more aesthetic then the male body, in general.

Yes maybe it is more socially acceptable for two women. But then we have a huge porno industry that promotes the image that two women are sexy and fun. It's most mens fantasy after all, and I assume deep down all the man wants to do is prove his sexual prowess in being able to satisfy two women at once. I mean, what a man huh? just want to add here that i did not mean to upset anybody by saying this and was talking about many years ago when things were so different and alot safer than now and hasten to add that most of the time I would have run a mile as these type of women did worry me abit lol ;)guess at the end of the day like alot of men,alot is just talk:o
