McCains owe more than 100K in credit card debt

Post by flopstock »

John McCain's family has a substantial amount of credit card debt, the Hill reported Friday, after annual Senate financial disclosure reports were made public.

It's not clear exactly how much the McCains owe, as the disclosure forms ask for ranges, not exact numbers. But there are multiple cards involved, according to the Hill -- one held jointly, two in Cindy McCain's name and one for a "dependent child." The joint card has a debt of between $10,000 and $15,000, Cindy McCain's cards both have a debt of between $100,000 and $250,000 and the final card is carrying a debt of between $15,000 and $50,000.

I'd guess he'd consider it unAmerican not to support Capitalism that enthusiastically so his family's spending beyond its means to keep God's Favorite Country solvent. Perhaps there's limits - perhaps Bill Gates' management team pays all his cards off automatically but he's an exception. For the rest of you, get out there and spend like there's no tomorrow. It's your plain patriotic duty.

I guess if you have enough that the guy has to sign a prenup, you have enough that the credit card company thinks you are worth the gamble.:p

I pay mine off every month. I wonder how much of that debt is campaign related.

Flop

Am I to assume your not a McCain supporter???

I'm surpirzed thru this Campaign no one has brought up the KEATING scandal that McCain was involved in..

It's a Savings & Loan scandal cheating investors out of millions - McCain didn't lose a dime, he made a profit... Yeh - he's for the people alright...

If it's not Keating, it's Whitewater.... then there's Obamas buddy Antoin "Tony" Rezko ...they've been friends a long long time.

They are all crooks. The problem is that the ones who aren't crooks can't afford to pay for the airtime to get our attention and capture our interest.

:wah: Well....I just can't help but think that someone with all that money and all that credit might would have a hard time identifying with the "little people" in America. The ones like me who pinch pennies until Lincoln squeals. I know it isn't supposed to but I think money does change people.

I could care less about the wife and dependent child in this story, except for the fact that this fella who will ultimately be responsible for submitting a budget to congress apparently has no more trouble then I do living outside his budgetary means and running up debt....:D

Flop

Oh, I so agree - they're all crooks

This election is actually making me sick - there's no one to VOTE for

I don't want McCain or Obama..

So - We need to Vote for the VICE Pres. .

Debt - I'm sure alot of this debt is campaign related - since his campaign was in the toilet for awhile.. obviously not long enough

I've never had that much money to worry about and certainly our credit limit is in a different bracket.

So, without seeing a spread sheet on McCains finances I can't say this amount owed is intolerable for their bracket.

John McCains been a little person & probably pinched a few Lincolns together at some point - does he remember ?

Cindy's never been poor - I often wonder what in her life drove her to alcohol abuse - prescription abuse & rehabs ??

It couldn't of been that husband of hers...?

Well for cyin' out loud don't go weak and take the flimsy 'lesser of two evils' approach. If neither one deserves to be pres then don't vote for either. Find someone else to vote for.

I'm not alone on not wanting to vote for either candidate.

I will be watching for the Vice choice.

I will admit I like Obama's wife, but she's not the candidate

any suggestions on who to vote for?

Thanks

I don't see the relevance in the VP choice, unless you have a good sniper in mind as well.

Check out the other candidates on the ballot.

I tend to lean Libertarian. Bob Barr was in congress, so he has a history to check.
