Suspenders And Stockings ... What A Turn On!

being in the antique and collectables business ... i have always been fascinated by the past ... was paging thru a book yesterday called "The Thirties" and came across a black and white illustration in it of a pretty young lady getting out of one of those fairground rides called "the caterpillar" ...

the wind was obviously blowing when the photograph was taken and her dress is around her waist revealing that she is wearing suspenders and stockings ...

OMG! it is without a doubt the sexiest thing i have ever seen on a woman! :-4

ladies why did you stop wearing them? :-1

and please won't you start again?

I'll drink to that. I'm always turned on by women in dresses. I HATE seeing women in (ugh) pants suits.

to wear stockings - every woman would have to use a garter belt to hold the stockings..

patsy .... what is a suspender belt then?

i asked a woman i know about stockings as opposed to pantyhose and she said that pantyhose is much more comfortable ... took her word for it cos i have not tried either of them even in my kinkiest moments!

gonna kill that man ... gonna google who invented pantyhose and kill him!!!

Who stopped?? I didn't, they are great for a dressy night out.

suspenders are usually always worn by MEN on the outside

because their gut is pushing the jeans down & the suspenders keep them strapped on

Pantyhose are a pain - always adjusting them - I don't like them.

I perfer to wear thigh high on a regular basis for nylons.

the garter attire - for special occasions.

Some men (straight men) wear nylons to keep warm - great insulation.

Longshoremen for instance will have a pair of panyhose as a layer of clothing..

Why don't you buy your wife a nice pair of stockings & garter belt ??

Victoria Secrets - alot of stores have them. For a special night.

Allen Gant Senior invented pantyhose. In 1959, Glen Raven Mills of North Carolina introduced pantyhose -- underpants and stockings all in one garment. With the addition of an opaque nylon top, panthose eliminated the need for multiple "foundation" garments. In 1965, Glen Raven Mills developed a seamless pantyhose version that coincided with the introduction of the miniskirt. Allen Grant Senior is a descendant of John Gant, who founded the textile mill in 1902.

this man has a lot to answer for in my opinion!!!

Yeah like an increase in attacks from thrush, pantyhose is bad for you!!

I agree about garters...fantastic for show but not so much for comfort.

Some of the best advice I've ever gotten is don't let your guy see you put your pantyhose on. Words to live by!

I didn't stop wearing stockings Jj, pantyhose are nice and i do wear them, but they aren't very comfortable in my opinion, and at times i wear stockings instead!

but in the summer I don't wear either one! :sneaky:

yeah me too! a go barefoot quite a bit and in the summer i wear a lot of sandals, i'm not about to wear hose of any kind with sandals! :wah::wah:

pantyhose and stockings too are uncomfortable and to hot in warm weather, i prefer wearing neither of them! :wah:

Out here in San Diego we banned "Panty Hose" :wah: we don't wear them or need them any time of the year. Now stocking and a garter belt, been know to where them if necessary if you know what I mean.

Lol, we call pantyhose "Tights" over here, I used to wear stockings and suspender belts years ago, and only wear them occasionally now. We have hold up stockings where you dont need a suspender belt to keep them up they have an elasticated top, but sometimes they tend to roll down so you end up with wrinkled stockings round your ankles lol, a bit like Nora Batty an english actress in Last of the summer wine who was famous for her wrinked stockings lol, but compo her distant admirer was turned on by her wrinkled stockings lol.

Stockings were not very practical when the mini skirt was in fashion. If you forgot to bend like a lady, you ended up showing all next weeks washing lol but of course the boys loved it.

I once had a pair of pure silk stockings and they felt wonderful to wear, but tights or pantyhose are much more practical for everyday wear. Unfortunatly we don't have your great weather over here even in the summer months, so tights keep the tootsies warm lol.

Quite a number of years ago when I was just a slip of a girl (!!) and I was a volunteer copper it was the norm for the female officers to wear skirts made of a very heavy material rather than trousers.

In the summer it would get rather warm round the ahem! - gusset area so I would usually wear stockings rather than tights until the occasion when called to an alarm sounding at an industrial premises and the only way in was by climbing the gate.

Let's just say that it is not very dignified trying to climb a gate whilst holding your skirt down to avoid flashing the 'giggle band' at your rather dishy colleague who's giggling like a girl.......:rolleyes:
