Make Someones Day

Post by Hope6 »

I received what i think may have been the nicest compliment i have every gotten today!

Any of you who have read many of my threads know that i have a big problem with people who judge people by what they look like!

I was coming from the field today, old clothes, covered in dust, having been wearing a hat, you know what that does to your hair! :wah: let's just say not a pretty sight! :wah: and i had to get gas in the car. I went by the gas station but i was completely ashamed to go in the store that way, but we have to do what we have to do!

So when i went in to pay, i said to the lady, i've just come from the field i'm sorry to have to come into your store this way.

she said that's fine, you do what you have to do, so we laughed and talked for a couple of minutes about how if we had to dress up everytime we went somewhere we'd never leave the house and stuff.

She went on to tell me how rude and mean a lot of the people were who came in there and she didn't understand the reason for it!

Then she said to me "with that personality of yours, nobody's gonna notice what you look like" !

That touched me so deeply, that's exactly the way i've been saying people should think and i'm so happy i finally met someone who does!

So it got me to thinking, if we just take the time to give a little compliment or say something nice to somebody when we get the chance, we could make somebody's day too!:-4

Hope, I can only imagine what you looked like. :) Your personality says it all.....you wear it much better than any type of clothing. A real southern lady can make a straw hat and pair of overalls look like a formal gown worn by the queen.

G'day Cars!!! And welcome back - I hope your cellmates treated you respectfully and that the warders were reasonably decent.. :sneaky:

Hope - at my last place of fulltime work we had at one time the most beautiful young woman you could ever imagine. Perfect figure, features, glowing skin - she turned every head. BUT she was not very nice, and as she got into her later twenties her face started to reflect what was inside her. Still beautiful in one way, but kind of ugly too. In ways that became increasingly noticeable even to her most ardent male admirers. Dazzling at the first look, sullen and spiteful at the second look. Sad really.

Beauty that glows out from the inside lasts - whatever your size, shape, state of health, age, position, attire.

Thankyou Hope - of course I'm a goddess, so being gorgeous is part of the job description. Like your red dress, by the way. I have a soft spot for scarlet women... especially intelligent, wickedly stylish, sweet natured ones....

I was brought up, Hope, on the Calvinistic fairytale of the Red Shoes. This signified wickedness and all the sorts of bad stuff that scarlet women might possibly get up to, like dancing!!! Quite the contrary of turning me into a modest, retiring, highminded Lady - I couldn't wait to get my first pair of RED SHOES. With, of course, matching clothes. No woman of course can ever have enough shoes, or boots - so I have quite a collection. And no doubt a character to match..

Anyone for a spot of flamenco??
