My view, is that society in general has become more accepting of homosexuality as opposed to 25 and 30 years ago. There is, has been, and always will be homophobes, but this will lessen over time as society becomes even more accepting.

Hi Blazen, welcome to FG.

When very young, I used to be prejudiced against everything & everybody, cause that's the way I was raised by my very prejudiced parents. "They" didn't know any better cause that's the way their parrents raised them. As I got older, I started to realize just how very wrong they were to judge a Book by its cover!

Over time I learned that "everyone" is one of "God's Children, not just a select race, religion, creed, or whatever.

A person's choice of "Sexual orientation" is being accepted by more & more of society daily! Societies motto should be: Live & Let Live.

All don't have to live according to the same standards, (define standards) so long as no Laws are broken, and no harm is being done to anyone!

I would like to add that to me, it is really rude to come in to the Garden

and right off the bat with no introduction post something like that.

What is the pay scale for helping you with your research paper? If you

knew it was coming up, why not get on somewhere two months ago or

heck even two DAYS ago and post a few times and THEN ask us what

we think?

That's MY "oppinion" (sic) and I'm stickin' to it!

Sorry Val, I don't agree and think you are being a bit harsh with Brazen. He might have done well to introduce himself better, but so what. FG isn't some sort of private society with secret hand shakes and passwords. At least he's not spamming.

Hey Blazen...Here are a couple of tips for your research paper, so you don't get an "F".

1. "Opinons" has only one "P"

2. Homosexuality - You don't take off the "Y" when it is predceded by a consonant, to make it possesive, just add an "apostrophe S" like this:

"Homosexuality's effects."

As for your answer, I used to work as a fighter pilot in the Air Force. Now I'm a teacher. Sometimes the children ask me, "Did you ever know any homosexual pilots?"

I always answer the same way, "I'm sure I did, but I have no idea who they were...you see, that had nothing to do with the mission I was completing. They didn't say, and I didn't ask, because a person's sexual orientation is their own business and none of my own. The only thing that concerned me was whether they did their job correctly."

The more intelligent and educated a person is, the less biased they are to sexual orientation, because you see....

Homophobia is ignorant.

Now... don't be so hard on poor Blazen you guys, I estimate his emotional-maturity age at about 12. ( And I'm seriously hoping he's not any older than that!) He's just trying to get a paper done.:wah:

Hey wisenheimer........ Here is a early (as in before you let us in) consevatives view on homosexuality..........

I have no problem what-so-ever with anyones choices in the bedroom.

I like how you want to paint all consevatives in a broad spectrum as GAY BASHERS........ Well gal you can eat my shorts. (I hope they taste good).

My younger, gay brother is HIV+ and has been for over 20 years and I love the h-ell out of him. I have ALWAYS supported him and always will.

I think this shows your inteligence and predijust to the core.........

Welcome Blazen

My view on homosexuality is... whatever floats your boat. I have many homosexual friends - given the area I live - and find them to be normal people, just not sharing my sexual arena. I have never felt any of my lesbian friends have tried to "hit" on me as I believe they respect my lifestyle as I respect theirs. I do have a homophobic brother and really wondered for quit some time if he had tendencies given his extreme fear. He isn't.

I'm not sure what kind of questions you need answered - so you need to ask!

For me its live & let live.

Why on Earth would I consider it any of my business how other people choose to have sex or whom to love.

That would be awfully arrogant and more than a little ludicrous dont ya think.

No offense here just asking ok ?

If your working on your masters degree how are you getting by with that spelling ?

So its just a laziness thing ?

Im not getting on you it just seems that if your that far along in your studies youd be entrenched in the basics of grammar.

But if your doing a lot of papers maybe its too time consuming.

Im just funny that way I guess.

Okay, Blazen, I will say that's a little better... you must understand, here

in the garden we sometimes have to be suspicious of people, the burnt

child shun de fire and all that...

But now that you've "given" a little more... it's cool.

I used to work in the film business, and for whatever reason, seemed to

have a pretty high concentrarion of gays. My feeling is, if you care about

someone, and are careful of each others' health, then I have no problem

with it.

I must tell you about a very dear, sweet man, a man I owed a lot to,

who taught me enough to make me command a pretty high income. This

man died of AIDS, and when we had his memorial, it was a beautiful thing

to see. His parents from the Midwest were there, and I remember his dad

exclaiming over and over "I had no idea... I had no idea" because he was

overwhelmed at the showing of love for his son. People told funny stories

about Ron, and there was so much laughter. It was a very beautiful

coming together of a whole wide range of people... the way it really

should be... for us all.

Blazen...it's old, but if you can find it, rent the movie "boys in the band" it's a superb chronicle of the early cases of AIDS and the scientists who cracked the medical mystery. it is also a commentary on the early days of gay awareness in san fran. an excellent and accurate movie. Why is it not illegal to spread AIDS? I'll tell you why, PC DEMANDS DOUBLETHINK!!

There is nothing wrong with the behaviors that spread AIDS therefore there is nothing wrong WITH THE PEOPLE THAT SPREAD AIDS.

Get it?

When a straight woman meets a bi-sexual guy who was a a barebacking bru-ha-ha the night before why is he not expected by her or society to inform said person about it? So that that person can make a decision about him? there are a growing number of hetero women who are becoming infected by switch hitters.
Scrat, it is illegal to spread Aids, a woman here in the UK was jailed last week for it, and a quick Google shows that you can also be jailed for knowingley spreading Aids in the States.

we do prosecute and jail down here in the swamp, mostly crack-whores and prostitutes who knowingly transmit the virus. yet in predominantly gay communities like key west, the problem is negligible because everyone is so aware. there are always those who think it can't happen to them however.

i just love scrat's hypocrisy. he wants the government to make illegal those behaviors that may cost the taxpayers down the road. i just love it.

here's what i demand: i want the government to jail any person whose BMI (body mass index) is too high. anyone who is fat is definitely going to incur health problems, and those health problems will be paid - if not by the government then by all of those who share the bills via their health insurance (and if the dems have their way, then it will *definitely* be tax dollars that pay for it). i want smokers jailed. when a woman gets beat up by her "boyfriend", i want *HER* jailed too - she's responsible for getting into the abusive relationship, so she is responsible for the medical expenses she incurred. i think any frivolous activity that winds up in anything costing the taxpayers shoudl be grounds for imprisonment. i'd say, if someone gets in a car accident on the way to work - no problem. if they get in a car accident on their way to the beach - frivolous! why should the taxpayers foot the bill for the ambulance and firefighters and cops who showed up to help the twit who was on the way to the friggin beach!? how about this - if someone takes a misstep going down their stairs to attend to the baby that was crying - no problem, we all foot the bill for her hospitalization. if that person took a misstep going down the stairs to get another slice of pecan pie (obesity!) then lock 'em up.

i want the government getting involved in every intimate detail of everyone's life - if they did so, it could cut WAY down on our taxes, by forcing irresponsible gay overweight clumsy frivolous smokers from forcing us to foot the bill for their stupid mistakes. all it takes is the political will to let the government become our adopted jewish mother.

amen, pass the jack daniels, katy bar the door, good night gracie, keep your powder dry, don't take any wooden nickles, and call now - operators are standing by.
