Young people are idiots, that's why they're liberals

First, let me say that I did not write this or have anything to do with it, I got it from another discussion blog. Having said that I found it, shall we say, interesting in a wierd sort of way.

"It never ceases to amaze: election season rolls around and the morons in the liberal press marvel at the POTENTIAL power of the young electorate. Liberals everywhere stoke the fires of these newbies in hopes that they will finally, for the first time ever, ACTUALLY SHOW UP IN DROVES AND VOTE DEMOCRAT.

Never seems to happnen, though. No "Vote or Die", no "Rock the Vote", no stupid Eminem hate Bush video, will get young people to stop acting like the irresponsible, fickle, flakes that they mostly are. That's what being young is all about. Sure, there are some exceptions out there. The rare mature kids who aren't blinded by emotional ankst and rage. Those who actually have a practical grasp on history and current affairs. FYI, they're called YOUNG REPUBLICANS.

But as the old saying goes: "If you're not liberal when you're young, you don't have a heart. But if you're not conservative when you're old, you don't have a brain". And so the majority of the young always seem to get worked up about LIBERAL CANDIDATES. And the media goes crazy over it as if it's a good thing. As if, it's something to respect or be in awe of. A phenomenah.

Let me ask you this: WHEN ELSE DO WE VALUE WHAT YOUNG PEOPLE THINK ABOUT IMPORTANT ISSUES? Do we ask them for financial advice? Do we ask them for marital advice? Do we seek their insight when it comes to a health related matter? NO, OF COURSE NOT, BECAUSE THEY ARE YOUNG KIDS. WHAT THE HELL DO THEY KNOW? RIGHT?

Well, that same logic doesn't seem to apply when it comes to politics and WHO WILL LEAD OUR COUNTRY. At least, not according to liberals. Shouldn't it tell liberals something about their ideology and views, when some 18 year old-no nothing-punk, SHARES THEIR EXACT POLITICAL VIEWS?

Do you see why we think you liberals are stupid? Your world view stopped developing some time after junior high school. And you still live in the same fantasy world that young kids occupy: Where their parents are the real oppressors. Just substitue "parents" for "U.S.". And you have the reason why liberals always "BLAME THE U.S. FIRST".

And just as naive kids ignore the sound advice of their wise parents and keep hanging out and trusting their delinquent friends, liberals will always doubt the U.S. and trust our sworn enemies: like Iran, Cuba, N. Korea, and Russia (in the Cold War). But what can we expect, they're liberals, they don't know any better. Just like children."

Haha..I noticed that. The young are stupid because the old start wars and send the young to fight them. Should be the other way round, the old are lowering in value to a society by aging so should be sacrificed first, the young have more to offer and longer to give. The military should be staffed by people in descending order of age as is seems they are smarter so should live longer in combat.

Republicans do have an image problem, as a bunch of pasty old white guys. McCain truly is the face of the party. The author won't fix that problem by insulting the youngest voters ... or even establish that he mentally more mature than a grade-schooler.

Did you know that the Democrats stubornly voted against civil rights for blacks till the bitter end..? It was conservitives/republicans that rose up and overtook democrats in favor of civil rights for blacks, all along the way... Look at Obama, he focus's on race at every step and speech, antagonizing the people, while Mccaine doesn't even mention it at all, and just concentrates on what he thinks is best for the country... I would say that in general, its certainly true that people become increasingly conservative as they get older, as well as more afraid of dying, less able to have sex, and generally less pleasant to be around.

I don't think its that young people are idiots, they just have more important priorities, like that totally hot guy who works in Domino's and Jason's new car, and hanging out down at the local hangout. The reason why they are like this is because they are mostly spoilt rotten by the age of 4, and the people responsible are their parents, so that doesn't say much about adults being particularly bright either.

The good thing about young people is that, like you said, most of them are not really bothered to vote, and even if they do, its just a popularity contest for them, so the prettiest candidate wins with the most inoffensive platform the "Rock the Vote" crap every time. Unfortunatley old people vote in droves, and those malicious SOBs continually vote in cranky SOBs like themselves.

Republicans, at least public Republicans have this uncanny knack of categorizing, pigeon holing, generalizing, coming to vague conclusions, slapping labels on, grouping and relating, twisting and commissioning a few statements to the whole of those that disagree with their politics.

Its nauseating the way they navigate with blinders on.
