Are you Empathic or Psychic?

Post by nvalleyvee »

I believe everyone has a connection to other people whether they are empathic or consider themselves psychic. I think I am empathic and I believe a lot of people have this ability. It might be deja-vu or I feel your feelings or just the gut feeling you know another person. I AM NOT ALONE. Any comments?

I agree. I think it comes in fits and starts for most, though. It's those who can channel it that are "true" psychics.

The fiance and I are constantly reading each other's minds, in all sorts of situations. I think when you are open in every way to a person, this ability makes itself apparent. We are so tuned in to each other we know what the other thinks right as they are thinking it.

He (Bullet) has some kind of empathetic or psychic something in him. He knew when his grandmother died, nearly to the minute and has "seen" other events before they happened. It's creepy sometimes.

I have done it a few times, but nothing of any significance and I certainly can't control it. It is a very interesting phenomenon, though.

Tell me more about your experience, NV.

A third option.... how about just a keen observer of human nature, anticipating action or thought based on experince mostly by trial and error?

Well if we are talking "ics", I am pathet"ic"... I have no skills as mentioned above. No intuition into anything. No radar to "tune into" anyone really hehehehehe and a fairly lousy judge of character.

Nooooo what I am saying is quite the opposite, I see everyone has the potential to be a good person and treat them as such, until proven wrong. Some times that has got me into a bit of hot water when they turn out to be trolls hehehehe

Sure make me sound like a troll Ahahahahahaha

Being a bad judge of character does not always mean you think all folks are bad no matter what, it works the opposite way too. :D

I know what you mean about being a bad judge of character my Pete is terrible it gets him into lots of trouble especially with other women....He thinks he is being polite and friendly but they pick it up as he fancy's them. I stand back and laugh at him trying to get out of these predicaments.:wah:

Empathetic is being "tuned in" to people's emotional state, as opposed to actually "reading their minds."

A little more serious (but only a little), I believe empathy is more a skill than a gift. It is a sign of greater maturity if one can read one's audience and make adjustments for optimal effect, whether that effect is to woo or to intimidate.

I actually try to teach empathy in my leadership development courses. A good leader shows how a given goal relates to each team member's interests. That can't be done well without empathy.

I started having out-of-body experiences at a young age. Sometimes I would be in class and then I would be looking down on the room. That was about the time I realized I was a little bit different. Bullet is probably the same way. He should be taught not to be afraid of it. Anyway - I started doing lots of research and experimenting. I got interested in Tarot and I-Ching and found I was pretty good at it. I still have friends who call every once in a while for readings - even from different parts of the country. I can sense people pretty well unless they are psychotic sociopaths like my ex :-5
