afraid we've done somthing a bit naughty and took the battery out now.

we have a leak in the immersion heater, the door has had to be taken off to get at it and as its directly above the kitchen, what ever they're cooking, the heat or smoke from frying comes up through the floor and sets the alarm off.

it will get put back in a minit

Morning all - from another Aussie!!! And a windy misty Friday morning it is here. I think Sydney now has the pleasure of the company of the Pope. The city is full of "pilgrims" and we're all in for loads of fun. :-6

It's persistently in the east Midlands grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Well at least the yobs don't like the rain :wah: :sneaky: Having said that a police traffic car came belting up the road with full blues and twos, nothing too near us though because he turned off to go on an estate (ex miners' housing - the pit has closed a few years ago) called locally as the 'pit estate' - says it all really, cos it mostly is the 'pits' :( . I'm just glad it isn't right next to us.

Gawd we live the life round here - last night the neighbours to our right (across the alley way), had a right good old row, and he slammed the door and the gate and stormed off down the hill, presumably to the pub !! Peace broke out then

Nice to see you all on here today, Hi Helen, Ducky, Chezzie, KS, Kaz , Pam and Carol and everybody, I hope your day was a good one XXX

Beware ...Mothers know everything !!!

Peter invited his mother for Dinner

During the course of the meal his mother could not help but notice how lovely

Peter's flat mate Joanne was

She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two, and this made her more curious.

Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Peter and Joanne than met the eye

Reading his Mum's thoughts, Peter volunteered, "I know what you are thinking Mum, but I assure you that Joanne and I are just flat mates".

About a week later, Joanne came to Peter saying, "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the frying pan, you don't suppose she took it do you?"

"Well I doubt it, but I'll Email her just to be sure he said, so he wrote

Dear Mother

I'm not saying that you "Did" take the frying pan from my house. I'm not saying that you "Did not" take the frying pan from my house, but the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you were here for Dinner

Love Peter

Several days later, Peter received an Email from his mother which read

I'm not saying that you "Do" sleep with Joanne and. I'm not saying that you "Do not" sleep with Joanne, but

the fact remains that if Joanne was sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the frying pan long before now

Love Mum

Lesson of the day

"Never lie to your Mother"

It's an old one but still really funny.

Qantas Airlines: Repair Division

In case you need a laugh: Remember, it takes a college degree to fly a plane but only a high school diploma to fix one.

After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a 'Gripe Sheet' which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the Gripe Sheets before the next flight.

Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.

By the way, Qantas is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident.

P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.

S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.

P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.

S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.

P: Something loose in cockpit.

S: Something tightened in cockpit.

P: Dead bugs on windshield.

S: Live bugs on back-order.

P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.

S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.

S: Evidence removed.

P: DME volume unbelievably loud.

S: DME volume set to more believable level.

P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.

S: That's what friction locks are for.

P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode.

S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.

P: Suspected crack in windshield.

S: Suspect you're right.

P: Number 3 engine missing.

S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

P: Aircraft handles funny

S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious.

P: Target radar hums.

S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

P: Mouse in cockpit.

S: Cat installed.

And the best one for last..................

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

thought id post this here incase the snopes police interigated me on ita authenticity hah hah

Carol you need to start it up in safe mode.

Laptop completely turned off ok:-6

To get into the Windows 2000 / XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" . Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

Note: With some computers if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message. If this occurs, instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key", tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu.

Once there, go to system restore and try and restore to an earlier good working time.
