New game guys!! Guess the song...

Post by BabyRider »

OK, guys...since our former resident game-inventor is no more :yh_cry I'd like to try a new one...

Post part of a song; a few words, a line, a verse, whatever, and we try to guess the song and artist. Sound easy? I've got a few obscure ones to try to stump you with. Just please remember to quote the lines you are guessing to save on the confusion.

Here's the first one:

"I've got the obligatory Hendrix perm,

and the inevitable pinhole burns...

all down the front of my favorite satin shirt..."

Thanks Teach!!

P.S. Are you a Floyd fan?

OK, guess this one. I double dog dare ya!!!

On the scene a priest appears

Sinners falling at his knees

Satan sends out funeral pyre

Casts the priest into the fire

It's the place for all bad sinners

Watch them eating dead rats' innards

I guess it's the same whereever you may go

OK, I figured I didn't have to say this, but this should be an "on-your-honor" game. No fair looking the lyrics up on the web!! Tsk Tsk, Teach! :yh_bigsmi

Hey, Minks...Just grab a CD at random, find some lyrics in a song, and put 'em here! Easy!

Okay, no more cheating.....here is my song

Oh yeah, your skin and bones,

Turn into something beautiful,

You know, you know I love you so,

You know I love you so.

I swam across,

I jumped across for you,

Oh what a thing to do.

I'm stumped on the last one. War Pigs was my guess and I thought that before reading the answer. Knew that one was Floyd but had no idea what so ever the song was.

HA!! WRONG!!!! :wah: It is NOT War Pigs, But something very close. Walpurgis is the original name of this song - and it had totally different lyrics back then, but the same music. The only place where this version of the song is (legally) available is on the Ozzy "Ozzman Cometh" Greatest Hits CD, which I happen to own. :guitarist It was found in Ozzy's basement recordings from 1970. I think they changed the lyrics, possibly to tame it down a bit, but not much. OK, I got ya on a technicality. ;)

In the master's chamber

They gather for the feast

They stab it with their steely knives

I don't think there's one to guess but my apologies if I've missed it

want to start something new, and it's breaking

my heart you're leaving, baby, I'm grieving..." (70s)

Hotel California by the Eagles-that was too easy, since I got my MA from Cal State Fullerton which the hotel is close to and we knew all about that hotel.........................

Next set of lyrics:

He pacified the nappy-suffering, infant-bleating

one-line jokers --- T.V. documentary makers

(overfed and undertakers).

Nice thread, glad to resurrect it. I think that last one would be a song by Jethro Tull called "Minstrel in the Gallery"

Try:

"And she's lifting and throwing to the wall

The post natal harmonies of youth

When this younger man, twenty five

Advantageously took away her pride"

In total agreement.

Keane, similar genre, is too. I only know because my daughter and son in law insisted I listen to coldplay's 3 and keane's one album(s). I needed to listen at least 4 times to each album and then....fantastic...
