Contrary to rumours which may (or, indeed, may not be) circulating on this board, theia did not, this day, covet or harbour any criminal intent towards the aforesaid blue cardi belonging to and worn by Betty Boop.

Thank you.

I can see why you might if you did, mind. But if you say, you didn't.

I feel I must plead my case here, everyone thinks I'm stingy Betty :-1 first off this mad woman covetted my brown cardi. So after much thought and consideration this morning I decided to wear my navy blue number, just to ensure she couldn't steal the brown one. Now it appears Theia would like this one too. I am a poor student and I cannot afford to just give this woman the clothes off my back!

Obviously I have such style and wear these cardigans very elegantly, it's just jealousy isn't it.

Face it Theia, you just wouldn't look as good as moi!!! :p:D

I don't think you can call theia mad just because she has kleptomaniac tendencies. There'd have to be more than just monomania regarding woolens.

A poor defence, Betty, a very poor defence. You flaunted that cardi in front of me today. How many times did you take it on and off in my garden, pretending that it had something to do with the sun going in and out? I said nothing, but I could see what you were doing. Yes, Bryn, you're right, it wasn't the brown one, but in a way, it felt worse....it felt as if Betty was saying, "Here's yet another cardi that I won't be giving to you." Put yourself in my shoes and just think how gutted you would feel.

Was it navy? I would have said a sort of airforce blue?

Spot, are you likening Betty to Ena Sharples? (hehe, good one theia!)

Okay...I'm sorry it's come to this but I'm going to have to tell the whole story. You may well want to log off, Betty. It won't make pleasant reading...for you...

So...Betty and I were sitting in my back garden this morning, she in a beautiful airforce blue cardigan and me in a tatty, short sleeved red thingy top, almost as old as me. The weather, admittedly, was a bit changeable and I felt a little cold. On my washing line hung my scruffy, unattractive black-speckled cardi. Shivering slightly, I unpegged it and slipped it on...it felt damp and it clung wetly to my arms. "Isn't that wet?" asked Betty. "No, it's only slightly damp," I replied quietly.

Now, I know what you're all thinking...that Betty said to me, "theia, you can't wear that wet cardi. Here, have mine. I'm younger and fitter than you. I can stand the cold." Sadly, you're wrong. Nothing, but nothing would separate Betty from her luxurious, dry, beautiful cardi. And I've got to admit, it hurts.

I'm sure if you could have been bothered to head upstairs you would have found plenty of cardi's in your many bedrooms with many wardrobes which were dry!

Hey guys, I sat on steps this morning for two hours, 'we'll sit in the garden' said Theia, I headed out there thinking lovely, only to find no garden furniture, only steps. My poor back is aching now tonight :( and dare I mention this but Theias garden is also infested with ants, I went home with ants in me pants!

Yes, but the ants are friendly. And they must have really liked you to want to go home with you. (I've forgotten, did you pay me their release fee...or not?)

Anyway, it's bedtime...I'm feeling a little tired, a little achey in my limbs (particularly my arms but I don't know why) and I wonder if I'm going down with a little chill (don't know how I could have caught that ) But please don't concern yourself about me, Betty, I'll be fine...probably.

And my apologies to Spot and Acc for the distress I clearly caused them. My story had to be told, sad though it was. But, as you know, I'm strong, I shall survive...

Are you forgetting the two chairs I produced when both our backs were paining us??

Okay, they were neither of them brilliant. You had the one that catches your hair in the plastic and I had to use the one whose back falls off, but just remember that in wet cardigan adverse circumstances, I still thought of your comfort.

(Didn't really sit in Betty's lap, that was a joke :o)

Don't you dare call my ants alien...they'll have you for that. You might think they're in the jar but wait til you're in bed. My ants don't take kindly to being offended...huh!

Betty, the simple answer is to let theia have first dibs on your current collection. There, consider yourself moderated. You can't wear them ten at a time, after all.

Oh dear me!!!!! What the heck did those worms ever do to deserve that? Have they been raised free range? Or were they forcefed and kept in cruel conditions? Now that dogs are apparently officially off the menu for the Beijing Olympics, I reckon we should start a movement towards the liberation of worms in FG - THEY ARE OFF THE MENU!!!!!

:sneaky:

Edit: GEESCH... I wrote this before I saw that you've been moderated by our Spot. That is more than enough for anyone to bear.

I'm coming down to the bottom of our Garden to help you cook up these worms perhaps in a light garlic sauce, French restaurant style..

I tripped on something that barked at one point, I thought it was someone's pet. It definitely had curlers in though.

Thank you! And thank Teddy, too, for his contribution. (Not so sure about the Marlborough Lights aroma...I'm Silk Cut 100s, but, well, I don't want to appear picky)

Edit: GEESCH... I wrote this before I saw that you've been moderated by our Spot. That is more than enough for anyone to bear.

I'm coming down to the bottom of our Garden to help you cook up these worms perhaps in a light garlic sauce, French restaurant style..

:D

Pam, my one friend in this barren land, how are you, you wonderful wonderul lady, has anyone told you what a fantastic cook you are, that garlic sauce was sublime. Thank you soooo much, gush gush etc etc.

Ants are on the menu for tomorrow, times are hard, any suggestions for this delightful delicacy?

lots of love Betty :-4:-4

Just because I'm after your cardis, Betty, doesn't mean I'm not a friend. In fact one of the requirements of being a friend is to covet the other's belongings. Most people do this covertly but I am such a lovely and genuine friend that I am open and honest about my covetousness.

:wah: Okaaaay. Hmmmm

So that makes me an open and honest friend in return to yourself, who is doing all she can to help you deal with certain humungous and hideous issues you have, namely jealousy of my style and panache :wah:
