Good for you I know how hard it is to lose weight.

Drink plenty of water & get some sugar free chewing gum.

I had to walk 7 ks in an hour for a few months ,Drs orders before I noticed any weight reduction.

Now I am jogging half & walking half, not bad for an old girl:wah::wah:

But when it started to come off it did so with a vengence, still happening:-6
It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice.

I would suggest choping some raw veg/fruit and keeping it handy in the fridge for those times after 7pm where you may get peckish.

Also freezing treats is another good tip. A chocolate bar will last much much longer if frozen and you will only probably want to cut the end off and put the rest back for another time.

Jacket potatoes are really filling and low in cals and fat unless you lather it in butter and cheese, the perfect low fat topping is baked beans.

There are those foods known as "negative calorie foods", foods that burn up more calories in the process of digesting them, than are actually contained in the foods themselves. You thus "speed your metabolism" by choosing foods that have few calories, yet burn many calories just in the process of metabolizing them. Potatoes and cabbage are good examples. Also, raw celery and grapefruit are often claimed to have negative caloric balance, presumably because the thermic effect is greater than the caloric content, due to the complex fibre matrix that must be uncovered to access their carbohydrates.

The expression "thermic effect of food" is used to describe the energy expended by our bodies in order to consume and process food. Dietary fat, for example, is very easy to process and has very little thermic effect, while protein is hard to process and has a much larger thermic effect. Therefore, eating more lean protein foods has also been proven as an effective strategy to help you burn fat and keep it off.

Your metabolic energy levels will be the highest possible if you eat whole, natural foods. Select unprocessed foods with a high thermic effect (lean proteins like poultry, egg whites and fish, as well as green vegetables and other fibrous carbohydrates).

You should ideally avoid processed foods, which is pretty much anything in a bag or a box. Yes, even pre-packaged cereals and pasta.

Yep, MrsK beat me to it. Water and sugarfree gum or sugarfree candy. They say to drink a full glass of water whenever you are hungry and before each meal. When I was going to Diet Center, they had me drinking a full 8 oz glass of hot lemon water each morning. Yuck! But everything they had me doing was working so I did it. Some people swear that the lemon helps burn fat. I don't know but after a while I got to not mind it as much.

Avoid salting your food because sodium retains water. Get one of those herb spices instead. Much healthier for you.

Raw celery. Burns more calories chewing it than what is in the celery itself. Celery, carrots, radishes, pepper strips, all that crudite stuff....guilt free good stuff.

Should you get a headache from not eating as much, Diet Center had me swallow a teaspoon of honey. I guess to raise sugar levels and kill the headache?

Find a photo you really like of yourself in thinner days and post it on the fridge.

Brush your teeth often during the day because you'll get to where you won't want to mess up that freshness with food. ;) Silly but it works.

Fifteen pounds is great Jimbo. Good going!

I didn't see any picture...:-3

Yeah Jimbo! It sounds like you have a good schedule down to keep on losing weight. When slim fast gets to be a drag, go to fresh fruit and veggies, anything but no carbs. Much healthier.

bullfeathers jimbo!

you're a babe magnet, you've always been a babe magnet, you always will be a babe magnet!:D

any other kind of thinking is not gonna help you a bit!

as for diet, forget the fads. what you need is a lifestyle change, not crap that you can't stick to for the rest of your life.

in any case, this tub of lard is both proud and envious of you Jimbo... great accomplishment, IMO.:yh_clap

Right on Jimbo!

I know how difficult it is (as I eat a bag of buttery popcorn as we speak).
