Those are beautiful dogs and could I ride it? I'm only 5'2'' weighing in at 100 lbs. :wah: Maybe we could win a prize on the show "America's Got Talent" for dumbest thing ever done :wah:

Sleep tight and see you later :-4

:wah:I don't think he's like it too much. Both grandsons have ridden him at some time or another...he doesn't like that either, but he is so good he'd never hurt them. Every time someone new comes to the house all I hear is, "I've never seen a dog this big before!". The breed is referred to as "The Gentle Giants" and he truly is. On his hind legs he's about 5'5" and 140lbs of pure puppy and he even gives hugs.:)

Uh-oh, the thread police might get mad cuz we're getting so far off the topic :wah:, so, I believe my guardian angel sent me to get Cody when we had our minds made up for a different breed. He knows my moods and can comfort me even when no one else can.

my cousin who lives here on the farm too, has a herd of goats in a separate pasture from the cows, and he has 3 dogs in there to guard them from predators i don't know if it's the same breed, but they are big and white, they weigh close to 150 lbs each, they are hugh! they are beautiful dogs, but no one can play with them because they are working dogs!

but it was the cutest thing the other day, we went down to see them and Jacob walked up to the fence, looked at them, patted his chest with his little hand and said i'm Jacob! :wah::wah::wah: it was so adorable i just about cried! :-4

It's a long story but the short form is I was once stalked by some wackjob in an old abandoned cemetery. He kept following me kitty corner and ducking behind trees and big headstones. I was oblivious because I didn't think anyone would want to hurt me and because I was so involved in checking out epitaphs. I saw him behind a shed and he ducked again. I thought "maybe he's the caretaker." Soon as I thought that, this *voice* as that's the only way I can describe it, in my head, said "look around Terri, does this place look taken care of?" It wasn't my inner voice, I didn't recognize it. Just then I realized what was going on and my ride sped up and got me in time. The creep took off running into the hills.

Many years ago when my mum had just left school and got her first job, a girl she was working with had a holiday booked with a gang of her friends, at the last minute she pulled out because she felt that she shouldn't get on the plane, the plane crashed killing a number of the passengers.

(btw to any nit-pickers this isn't an urban myth - it really is true)

Guardian angel or just fear of flying? Don't know but it obviously wasn't her time to die.

It sounds like your cousin has the same kind of dog. They are giants and can be pure white or have some grey and tan markings like my Cody. They are originally from the Pyrenean Mountains and are known for their guarding instincts...they're even known for fighting bears that would threaten their flocks...but they're not herders. To me, Cody is one of my guardian angels...no one messes with him or me if he's lying down with his momma. I believe he would attack anyone that tried to hurt any one of us. :-4

That is so cute about Jacob! The Pyrenees are known for their love of children and their gentleness around them. I love the way Jacob introduced himself to the dog...it is pure cuteness at it's finest!:-6

yeah these dogs are very protective of the herd. we have a coyote problem here now so everyone with sheep or goats are getting something to put in the pasture with them! they say you need more than one because one can't fight a whole pack, so my cousin has 3!

yeah Jacob loves dogs, but he's started introducing himself to people and he even introduced himself to someone on the tv the other day! :wah:

Friendship angel poems :

author unknown

When I have no one to turn to

And I am feeling kind of low,

When there is no one to talk to

And nowhere I want to go,

I search deep within myself

It is the love inside my heart

That lets me know my Angels are there

Even though we are miles apart.

A smile then appears upon my face

And the sun begins to shine.

I hear a voice, so soft and sweet

Saying, 'Everything will be just fine'

It may seem that I am alone

But I am never by myself at all.

Whenever I need my Angels near

All I have to do is call.

An Angel's love is always true

On that you can depend.

They will always stand behind you

And will always be your friend.

Through darkest hours and brightest days

Our Angel's see us through

They smile when we are happy, and will cry when we are blue..

Thanks for being my Angel my friend

I will be there for you until the end.

Thanks for this poem Hope, it's been a rough couple of days and this is exactly what I needed. I think I'll make a copy to keep with me.

Still not sleeping well and still kinda down, so I'm trying to lighten up by having a little fun on here today. I'm missing my daughter something terrible and she's not due back until Tuesday.:( At least all this talking is stimulating my brain, much more than just staring at the TV. :wah: I have added a couple more people to my friends list, that's a really good thing. :-4

That's weird Hope. I lost my dad twelve years ago when I was 32. We were extremely close, and I was a total daddy's girl...he was so awesome! I also had a grandma that I was really close too...and I know she looks after me. Wanna know how? While she was in the hospital close to death, the doc's told us all that she was in a coma plus on tons of pain killers and that she would never come out of it and wouldn't know we were even there. The last time I went to see her I went in by myself and I held her hand. She then opened her eyes and looked at me and her eyes were filled with tears. I told her I loved her, everything was ok now and that she could let go. She gave a slight nod, closed her eyes and never opened them again. She died later that night. She waited until we could say our goodbyes. It's been 25 years but I still well up whenever I tell this story.:-1:(

Yeah, it sounds so sad, but it's been so long now that I will hold it in my heart as one of my most wonderful memories until I die. I also remember my dads last words to me "I love you babe" That was a Friday night and he died the next morning.

OMG! 17? That had to be so hard on you...and I know what you mean by a daddy's girl. I'm sorry you didn't have him longer. :(

I was 20 when my best friend was killed in an accident. I used to dream of him quite often. The last dream, probably around 1983, he told me that he will always be there for me when I need him and kissed me goodbye on the cheek. The dream is as vivid today as it was back then. When life got better for me, I stopped having dreams about him but I always feel that in bad times, he is standing right next to me along with my family members who have passed away.
