What Kind of Music Do Your Pre-Teens Listen Too?

Post by qsducks »

My two who are 12 & 14 listen to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith. Very funny since I listened to them when I was younger. They are def. not into rap and love when I put it on the radio in the car. My older daughter is into Dave Matthews, U2, and rap, which I can't stand either. Do like her other bands and the ones the younger teens like.

My 11 year old granddaughter is into about the same music. She hangs with her cousins who are older so she has picked up some of there taste in music as well. Then when she travels with Grandma she is gets into the oldies, and motown sound that I like. :guitarist I don't do RAP in my house or car it will make me violent and who knows what will happen. I don't do much country music either the twang gets on my nerves in about 10 minutes. :D

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

My boys who are pre-teens listen to the same oldies that I love, they love Skynrd, Aerosmith, Zepplin, Rush, Van Halen, the Who, the list goes on....they also love when I buy oldies, even from the 50's...one of my 12 year old son's favorite songs is "see ya lata alligator"....we drive down the road making alligator chomping motions with our hands and sing along.....great fun!!:wah::wah:

my boys love Johhny Cash, Ray Stevens, Elvis and the Beatles too!!

The 19 year old listens to that rap stuff, and I can't dig it...he has to go outside to listen to it, and if I'm out there, he knows to turn it off...I can't hang!!....he likes oldies too....and cracks me up when we listen to soft oldies like Tom Jones and Van Morrison....he gets into it!:guitarist

The girl I'm looking after's been listening to Berg, Tangerine Dream and Pentangle. Rather Euro-centric, you might think, but it can't be helped.

You're a cruel and unusual punishment, Chezzie.
