All of our representatives are busy
“All of our representatives are busy assisting other customers, sound familiar?
“Your call is important to us, please stay on the phone. Funny, I don’t feel important. “We are experiencing unusually high caller volume. Yeah, right. :-3 If you have such high call volume maybe all your services are screwed up and that’s why so many people have to talk to the next available representative.
I just spent 15 minutes (yes I timed it) on the phone with Chase Bank waiting to be one of those lucky customers. When I finally got to a real person, I was put on hold to be transferred to another person. But there is a game you have to play just to hear that uplifting message, you have to figure out the correct number to enter, and it truly appears that they have the systems designed to keep you in a never ending loop. Take notice the next time you get into a voice system how infrequently you hear the instructions on how to get to a real person. There are times I feel like I am building a meaningful relationship with the digital voice (notice it is always a women). :-4
Of course when you do figure out how to reach a representative they are always “assisting¦................ After banging your phone for a while try just #0 or *0 or even 88 at any point. Of course you run the risk of going back to the top of the tree or worse being asked if you want to hear the instructions in English. Are there fewer customers being assisted on the Spanish line, I wonder?
To add insult to injury they have the nerve to make you listen to advertising between the music while you are on hold.
I have a solution, if my call is so important then put more customer service representatives on the damn phone. Surely, there a people looking for a job in India. Of course, my call is not important, they don’t want to talk to me for fear that I may have a questions or problem that pressing 1, or 6, or 8 will not resolve and instead requires some human being to think and that generally presents a problem.
The next time you reach a customer service representative, try this, ask if they can hold for a few minutes as you now have to take a pee. Then you will find out just how important you really are. :-5

:wah: :wah: :wah: You made me laugh out loud!!
I HATE dealing on the phone! I especially hate when I must deal with someone from Bangladesh who has a rebuttal book in front of him and keeps asking me questions in severely broken English that have nothing to do with my issue.
One time I got pissed off and dropped my phone in the dog's water dish.
Ok and this infuriates me too- the Voice tells me to say or enter my last name/social security number/phone number/account number so that they can "speed up their call" and I do then when some jerk gets on the line FINALLY! they ask me for the same damn information!

I've found a quick way to bypass waiting when all the reps are busy. It seems that you will always get a live person right away if you press the number for new purchases or sales, then say "I'm sorry, I mis dialed, I was calling for service". That person then will connect you to a live human being straight away. Works about 80% of the time. They always want new business but are reluctant to take care of existing business quickly.

I discovered that, when the recorded message says "please press 1 for english", if you don't press 1 the message keeps repeating itself. Hour after hour. I may be one of those tying up representatives. Sorry. :wah:

I should add that I only do this to Wells fargo when they keep calling me every hour all day looking for one of my sons.

Well Red, they have to do that to be sure you are the person calling.
That one drives me crazy too.
Where I work we are getting direct lines to our desk. Customer service or else.

I do the 0 or *. Even if it doesn't work, it's quite therapeutic punching the number over and over while the computer voice keeps starting over trying to get it's statement out.

I am going to get on my soap box. I had a friend who is dying. all that request of me was to find a friend of ours in Italy. Well I can not tell you how many e mails i sent for help. Including MANY law makers. NOT ONE DID I GET A ANSWER FROM. From my govener to senaters. to state reps. NOTHING!! If they couldn't help me or wouldn't they could have told me so. But not a kiss my ass, or no thank you. Nothing at all. I had no faith in our goverment. But to give my dying friend her last wish. When our reps. turn their noses up to the little people. Am I wrong? Isn't that what we were based on?? But on my own I did contact our friend in Italy. They did get to say their goodbyes. No help, from ANYONE.:-5:(:-1

City/State different reps for different districts - to cities - county?
requesting to find a friend in another country - you would need to have the search scope smaller to apply to the correct district/ agencies.
calling in general - so computerized - very frustrating.
we all do it..

Sorry to hear that, but what has that got to do with the topic of this thread?

This may seem a naive question but why not transfer your business to an enterprise which has better support? It's a free market after all.

The post was intended to be funny, but is unlikly to matter if I did change, they are all the same.

I didn't know you resorted to humour, I seem to have missed that detail.
If they're all the same then there's an opportunity for a company to carve out a market share among those who'd like good service. As I said, they're all operating in a free market economy. We have firms like that in England.

I just hate it when you finally do get thru and then it's to someone that hardly speaks English. Sometimes I'll ask if they actually have someone that I can understand available.
