Drivers throwing urine-filled bottles on I-84

OSP officers are seeing a big increase in urine bottles like this one left along I-84 outside Ontario

ONTARIO - Oregon State Police officers say people are filling up plastic bottles with urine and chucking them out the window, leaving them along the side of the road on Interstate 84.

We’re not just talking one or two bottles – but 200-300 human-waste filled containers along a 25-mile stretch of the freeway between Ontario and Huntington.

Police think long-haul truck drivers might be to blame.

"The main portion, about 100 bottles, was found on the eastbound side in a three mile stretch called ‘Three Mile Hill' between milepost 356 and 359, OSP Sergeant Jason Reese said in a prepared statement. “This area is prone to this problem because commercial trucks are driving at a slow speed and drivers can urinate into bottles and toss them out the window.

Like so many issues of late – this problem is being blamed in part on high fuel prices. Reese said that an informal survey of drivers said the gas prices are causing drivers to travel slower, and save time and fuel at rest stops – which could be leading to the urine-filled bottle boom.

Many of the drivers surveyed called the practice “disgusting.

Oregon law actually mentions this type of problem, and anyone caught chucking a urine-filled bottle out the window may be arrested and hit with a $250 fine.

If they drive for a living and know that they're not going to stop to pee, why not just drill a hole in the floor and intall a tube?

This kills me, they make 'road potties' small urinals that have a liner like the stuff thats in diapers, small gel beads that soak up the waste, pretreat it and then seals it up, when you reach your destination you then throw it in the normal garbage can.

Hi Accountable,

Having grown up in the country, i have been caught short many a time & had to go behind a bush, as us ladies do.

Now, i may have something abnormal about my urinary tract that i need to see a specialist about, but, pee in a bottle? I have never managed once to squat down without soaking my knickers.

Women are not built for the ability to aim straight.

You always spotted the ladies out walking their dogs who had got caught short on route-----they had wet shoe's.

What is wrong with foriegn tourists???

You remind me of a pal who went to France for her hols & came back complaining that it was full of French People.

oh blimey this reminds me of one awfull night about 18 months ago,i had just been discharged from hospital with food poisening,on my way home i became very ill again,i had to sqat where i could and where it was darkest,i then realised it was the front gate of a huge country house!and to make matters worse i cleaned myself up useing the only scrap of paper i could find,a bill with my name and address on it!in my defence i was so ill an ambulance was called and i was readmitted to hospital.

As the French couple arrive at their hotel room-- they find the view from the balcony is rubbish in a car park, the bed is hard as wk old chewing gum, the furnature, tatty & torn, no corby trouser press, no tea making facilities, no t.v or sattilite channels--- but the wife says (In french) "o.k darling, it may not be as it was in the brouchure but at least we have a nice clean toilet.

After many yrs of CILLIT BANG adverts, desperately reaching for the remote to hit the mute button as they came on t.v, a man took a loaded shot gun, fired it at Barry Scott, shouting "BANG & the C__PS gone", a court heard today. The judge said he had every sympathy for him as his own wife had developed a compulsive disorder where she would spend hours a day, dipping pennies into Cillit Bang & talking to people in her bathroom that wern't there.

The man was given a discharge & thanked by many t.v viewers

( Now i really am sure i took too many of those pills)
