Absolutely pelting snow!!!

Post by AussiePam »

I'm in Canberra, the capital of Australia, where I live some of the time - and it's pelting snow. Big fluffy flakes. Has been snowing most of the day. I LOVE IT!! I'll be heading up a bit higher to plough some slopes next weekend. Can't wait. I shall spend this icy Sunday afternoon digging out my ski gear - may wear it right now.

Perhaps we could swap households in late fall here?:D
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

Folks who'd like to copy my intellectual work should expect to pay me for it.:-6

Keep warm, Fuzzy. Sending you a bunch of snowflakes, Floppy. Please put this on my FG slate to balance out bad deeds I'm probably contemplating.

Odie - it's only a few degrees below freezing here at the moment, nothing by Toronto standards. And yes, winter here!!

Funny, you dont strike me as the typical Canberra-ian.

I would have laid money down that you were all kinds of Kalgoorlie-itan.

Thanks Chonsi, and Kathy.

Kalgoorlie is a mining town in Australia's far west, Nomad. I'm sure it's a neat place, but I've never been there. The people who live there are probably fine aussies too, so if you think this Sydney city girl is a good Kalgoorlian, I'll take that as a compliment. Thankyou!!

The snow's melted here today, though it's still very cold. Heavy falls of good skiing powder in the mountains - where I'll head next Sunday. Can't wait.

Hi Jessica!! We're in winter here right now, and quite a few bits of Australia get snow - mainly on the more southern parts of the eastern mountain chain. There's good skiing in three States - New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. I usually go to Perisher/Blue Cow.

There's a webcam on this site

Can't wait to get up there into that!!!

I love your photos, by the way, of your family's trip to Italy. Great country. I did some walking in the Cinque Terre area, two years ago, and stayed for a few weeks in Greve, a village just south of Florence.
