I wish I could. I have to be flat before I can sleep. How nice it would be to doze off sitting in a chair or on a plane.

How many hours of sleep do you get?

Do you take any sleep meds?

Every night. Did you ever see the movie "the professional"? Jean Reno slept sitting up in a chair in that movie. I have problems that make it hard to sleep laying down. I only sleep 3-5 hours a night but it's enough.

No meds.

I can sleep almost anywhere....I have fallen asleep in many a waiting rooms (Doctors and such) When I go to get a pedicure, ALWAYS fall asleep just about the time they start to paint my toe-nails, so I wake up to them bein' all pretty!....one time the tech let me sleep for about 45 minutes

I can sleep for long periods of time, don't take any meds, unless I'm just really stressed, then I might take some valerian, but that is only once in a while!

I learned how to sleep sitting up very well when Jacob was born, i would get up for his feedings about every 3 hours or so and i have this really comfortable chair that i would sit in, he would drink his bottle and go back to sleep, then i would sit there holding him and fall back to sleep too! i would wake up a couple hours later sometimes when hubby would be there taking Jacob out of my arms and putting him back in his bed!

i get maybe 6 hours a night if i'm lucky, but if i have the time and am not interupted i can sleep 10 or 12 hours at a time! :D i don't have to take any medications to do it!

I wish I only slept when laying down it would solve a lot of my problems.

I have a thyroid condition and due to the condition and treatment I am always tired always looking for the chance to grab a nap.

I fall asleep anywhere

Trains

Planes, in fact I dare not sit down while waiting for the plane in case I fall asleep and miss my flight!

Cinema, I haven't been for years because I know I will be asleep in moments.

Church, all that calm music did it for me

Friends houses, talk talk talk it wears me out

My own birthday party, they carried on without me.

Restaurant, it took so long between courses

Bar, boring

Playing Maj Jong, I woke up for my turn!

In fact anywhere I sit down and thats it. Once I relax I fall asleep while I'm busy although I'm tired I can stay awake. I have to tape anything I want to watch on TV after 9pm because chances are I wont see more than the first 10 minutes.

I normally sleep 8 hours but have been known to sleep 17 hours non stop. and yes I still went to bed that night worn out and slept another 8.

Isn't it great?

I have a sister in law that can't sleep in a car and I recently found out the HARD way that she is a horrible passenger in road trips!!! arrghhh....I took her and my brother and their 2 year old up to PA from MD and she about drove me crazy with telling me how to drive....trust me when I say I am a very safe driver....I have a perfect driving record and people in my family tease me that I drive like an old lady, so when she was complaining I was shocked!!! She is under a bit of stress, so I let it go, but she does it to my brother all the time too:-5

I should've known when she said "oh I can't sleep in the car" that it was going to be a long 4 hour drive!:wah:

I have to be lying down to sleep.

I cant sleep anywhere or anytime, even when I did a spell of 12 hours nights I couldnt bloomin sleep. I have a problem winding down. On average I get 6 hours and I always feel sickly and groggy in the mornings. I cant wake up and get back to sleep either, if im disturbed early morning thats my sleep ruined.

I also have these weird sort of nightmares most nights and I think they occur more frequently when im super tired. I wake up sometimes not knowing where I am, I dont know my bedroom, sometimes I am shouting and wake hubby to ask him whats happening, other times I find myself in the hall and realise it was a dream, last night their was a problem with my thigh and this morning when I woke, the first thing I did was check my thigh:thinking:

When we bought the fish the other week, my dreaming was awful, fish in my bed, fish attacking me, hubby was a fish...I know it sounds funny but im quite petrified when im in the middle of one.

Hubby can sleep on a clothes line, anytime, anyplace, anywhere...Good job since I wake him nearly every night with my mad ramblings:D

i had a reoccuring nightmare that lasted for years that there was a snake in my bed! i would wake up screaming, and run down the hall before i came to my senses, i also would wake up shouting and asking my husband what was going on!

then i got Lucky my dog, he started sleeping on my feet at the end of the bed, and i never had the nightmare again!

I don't fall asleep easily and I have to be laying down and it has to be dark and quiet except for some white noise. I usually sleep with the bathroom fan on.

Sometimes I take a PM med to sleep better or Sleepytime tea. :-6

that is how the b/f is....I feel so bad for him when we are together, before going to sleep he has to put toiletpaper or cotton in his ears so that I don't keep him awake with my snoring, not to mention all the white noise that I LOVE to fall asleep to....which he doesn't. At his house its completely silent....nothing....the ceiling fan is even quiet!

I have also fallen asleep on a bus, woke up and had to walk about 3 miles home.

I have fallen asleep whilst on the computer and once while, ahem, we will not mention that one.

So yes, i can fall asleep anywhere. not driving i hope

Barman's post reminded me of two times I fell asleep on the phone, once was my neice who just talked and talked and talked, until she heard me snore....:o

the other one was a time that I was trying a work from home adventure selling vitamins and stuff and had to listen to a person (on tape) give information about the business....I laid down in my bed to listen to it, to wake up an hour later with the line dead and I called back the lady that was trying to get me into the business, she was NOT happy with ME!!:o:-3

Talk about snoring-------------nothing worse than a barracks in the military with and open bay and 15 beds on each side (30 G.I.'s)

What a hell of a racket.
