Mushed up crisp butty's

Post by buttercup »

I'm quite fond of mushing up crisps & adding them to a butty. The best imo is

1 half of butty spead with butter, other half spread with dairylea, few slices of extra strong cheese, bacon & mushed up cheese & onion or pickled onion crisps, well fine.

Tried monster munch once but its not the same, sticks to your teeth something terrible.

Any other crisp butty munchers here? What flavour works best for you or is the very thought :yh_sick

That sounds very appetizing, but I'm not so fond of having crisps in my butty, though. :p

Can I get this right.......crisps are potato chips and chips are french fries...so a crisp buttie is a potato chip sandwich not a french fry sandwich....right:confused::wah:

What is dairylea and do you say it "lee" or "lee-a?"

Why do you call a sandwich a butty?

I do like to crush up Lay's potato chips and put them on a bologna and mayo sandwich. :)

My recipe calls for one (or two) rolls, salt butter on each side and either plain, cheese and onion or steak and onion crisps.

Translation:

crisps = potato chips

mashed up = crunched

chips = chips (french fries are those abominations produced by McDonalds)

Butty (or Buttie) is Scouse for snadwich
An ye harm none, do what ye will....

A chip butty is very different to a crisp sarnie.

The first is a northern delicacy whilst the latter is a softy southern affectation :wah:
