The Belt Buckle with the German text on it says "God With Us."
Is there some point you are trying to make?

It is with deep sadness that I have begun to feel that Church-going and Christianity do not touch at any point.
Well, perhaps at one point -- as an ideology for church elites to keep hoi polloi low and ignorant. But nowadays we are not low and ignorant.
In any church the socially powerful win. The survival of the fittest. But it is not enough to win -- others must lose.
I feel that Jesus of Nazareth would be appalled.

Gracious!
What church to you go to? I have never experienced anything like that. Apparently, you have at least one or two examples. Care to share?

Since TW gave us no context, I took the liberty of scanning his posts to see if I could figure out where he's coming from. The only things I could figure out was this:
1. He's vehemently anti-Bush. Anything Bush does is wrong. If it ever got out that Bush regularly wears clothing, TW would likely go naked (or at least say everyone should
)
2. He's slightly less vehemently anti-Christian, possibly anti-religion but I can't be sure. He says people believe the Bible because they can't understand science (not a quote, but close).
3. He's a sensitive guy when it comes to discussing relationships, and generally gives good (meaning socially acceptable and gracious) advice.
4. Anything posted criticising Germany gets his hackles up.
Bases on these, arguably inaccurate, observations, I conclude that TW means that it is the Church's fault that Germany fell under the spell of Naziism. Another alternative: the Church kept political relations with Hitler despite knowing what a viscious killer he was, and that makes all people still practicing Christianity 60 years later evil, evil, evil.
How'd I do, TW?

I just love the way you (LW) take your quotes out of context.
"I hope you leave here and walk out and say, 'What did he say?'" â€George W. Bush, Beaverton, Oregon, Aug. 13, 2004
Does this make more sense?
Q Any fundraising dinners before the election?
THE PRESIDENT: Fundraising dinners, no -- sure, there will be some. But I'd rather do these kinds of events. I want people to know what I stand for, what I believe, where I want to lead the country. There's more to do. I hope you leave here and walk out and say, what did he say? He said, there's more to do to make this country a safer, stronger, and better place.
Yes, sir.

Easy, "God is on our side" is the rallying cry not only of the righteous, but of the evil.

"God is on our side" is the rallying cry of the unrighteous.
The rallying cry of the righteous is "May we be on God's side.":)
