My 3rd grade classroom
Thought you might like to see some pictures of my American classroom this year. Once the kids mature a bit and learn how to work in small groups their desks will be placed in groups of 5 for experiments and projects.
This is the large bulletin board outside of my classroom. There's a train conductor welcoming all aboard... This is in honor of my FG friend, Okie, who worked on the railroad:-6My kids this year are into trains:D

The meal worms live in the lunch cart?
Ignore me, I just woke up and my mind's not all there. - and don't say what you immediately thought, either.
Out of interest, how often does a cleaning crew go in and sweep / wash / polish? The place looks immaculate.

Thank you everyone for such kind words of support. I love teaching the little ones.....3rd grade rocks:-4
Floppy, I have 23 kids...the room looks crowded because it's wider rather than longer, and I have tons of stuff that we use during the year. Room will look better when I can put the kids into groups.....makes the class roomier.
Spot, the janitors strip the floors and wax each room every winter holiday and during the summer. They sweep the floors everyday, and wash them once a week. The desks are also washed and disinfected each week. Our maintenance staff is fabulous.
The kids and I pick up after ourselves and keep the room clean. We make lots of messes during the day and then just clean it up.....takes a few minutes. We also try to stay organized and that helps keep the room tidy....Our motto is "there's a place for everything and everything in its place."
I think that our kids and teachers take pride in our school because we're lucky to have a beautiful school with everything that we need...they just build another room filled with 30 computers that are just for the kids to work on writing and internet skills.....WOW:guitarist Our school was built in 1988.

Hmmm this gives me an idea for a thread.
