what would you ask HIM/HER?

What would be the question you'd ask your god? Would it be something profound? Like why don't they show themselves to the world? Or Why is there so much suffering? Would it be a question about how a loved one is doing ? Or would it be a request for someone back in the old world? Or a request for revenge?
WHAT WOULD YOU ASK?
Was I right? I was right, wasn't I? It's okay to let me know, I won't tell anyone. But I was, huh?

Why do you give so much to some and so little to others.....why do you cause pain for the young and innocent.....why do you keep some people loveless all their life......why are we led to believe these are lessons in life........
Women are bitchy and predictable ...men are not and that's the key to knowing the truth.

where is my dad?.......you remember, you took him from me when I was only 12!
Life is just to short for drama.

god takes them when he wants them, that is my belief.
and why do some suffer through life with constant up and downs?
they say if you say your prayers and you believe in god, good things will happen to you.
and if you believe that.......................

I liked Hoss's answer, and I would be speechless.....I believe I wouldn't have any questions.....unless my baby didn't appear to me, then I'd ask to see him.:-4

I don't really think we can have it two ways. Either we want free will or we want our lives planned out for us and we become the automatons. Personally I want freedom.

I would ask "Just what was your purpose in creating a very complicated evolutionary process of fish and mammals that went on for millions of years?"

An excellent post. Wonderful.
I tend to see Jesus as a brother and God as the power behind the universe. The Creator has been, for far too long anthropomorphized. I would not ask a question but offer thanks for life.

I have to agree, too much is attributed to god and it is stupid to do so.
I was rebuilding a gearbox with my father when one of his friends turned up for lunch. He said grace and in his prayr he said, "And thankyou god that the gearbox went to gether allright" My father (a baptist minister) rolled his eyes at this.
I mean come on if you believe in god then he gave you brains so that you can do it for yourself. thank him for the brains that allowed the gearbox to go together.
Because If he was directly responsible for that gearbox then the question becomes one of why the hell are you wasting your time on something so insygnificant as a car part when there are entire nations starving.

I've asked this question of others in real life and I didn't expect all the answers that were given.
I was actually stunned to find that the answers reflected the desperation and sadness, and deeper thoughts of human beings.
I think we tend to fall into the trap of seeing God as an adult father Christmas. Like, If I'm good all year life will go smoothly for me , or I'll have all the answers because God will bless me more than anyone else.
I think we have to learn to turn that kind of thought process around.
I've seen on this board many threads pertaining to "friendship" and the qualities we aspire to in being a friend, and the qualities we expect in a friend. Friends can't change the world for us but they will sit with us and listen, understand us and be there for us when we need companionship. and if we are doing the right thing they will stand by us. How come we don't ever put these same qualities to god? why don't we see him as a friend instead of a "fix it man"?
personally I think it's insulting to God to ask all these questions of him. I think it's like giving him the position of a janitor in a large apartment buidling. Everyone calling him up to fix this and that. Always expecting him to come and do it. and if he doesn't get around to it, all hell breaks lose and there's complaints and grumbles and requests to fire him.
I'm not going to bible bash here . but I think you all should be rest assured that every single answer given here in this thread so far has already been asked of God in the bible.
Maybe it's time we saw him as a friend rather than the fix it man. Maybe he'd think of each and every one of us more if we thought of him a bit more as a friend.
The next time we are in trouble or sad or confused maybe we should not ask questions but only ask him to sit with us for a bit..................there's strength in that.
and here endeth the lesson:DExcellent post love......excellent.I know the questions I asked but also I know we are not puppets and are given a free will.......but there again some dont.A baby in arms that is harmed has no free will and nor have so many.Yes some of us make some real crap mistakes in our lives and expect God to undue them.Something happened to me some years ago that I dont talk about that much and was the most incredible experience I have ever encounterd.Silly I guess but even as I type this the memory's bring tears to my eyes and I dont know why.It was the most Spiritual encounter I could ever have dreamed of and my life changed at that point in so many ways and also those around me.I have spoken to Ted I believe on a thread about this and also have shown him poetry that seemed to come from nowhere as upto that point poetry was something I had always mocked. The thing is we are all human and have human feelings and at times cant help certain feelings towards another even though we know we are wrong doing so.We all make mistakes in this path of life but hopefully one day find our way and get to understand the answers to so much.

Good post.
I think the one thing that has very negatively influenced western society is this nonsense of original sin. It gives all humans who buy into that, negative feelings about themselves and their world.
It is time to accept the fact that we are human and as such prone, sometimes, to doing stupid things. Does God see most of these as "sin"? I don't think so.
According to the myth of creation "God saw all that He had made and behold it was good, very good".
Some complain that they have evil thoughts. Where do these come from? Actually they are the result of our hormones over which we have no control. We actually chastise ourselves for being human, the way God made us??!! Good grief I was raised to the idea that playing cards or dancing or going to the show were evil. Heaven forbid that we enjoy this wonderful and sacred thing we call life. Drinking wine was evil when Jesus himself drank wine and probably went to the local pub on Thursday evenings with the boys. Some will argue that it was not fermented wine Jesus drank however the Greek says otherwise.
We are humans and we were created in God's image and were given life to enjoy. Jesus came that we might have life more abundantly.
May God preserve me from the above nonsense.
Shalom
