okay so some really funny things about my school! weird traditions...
1. We have this thing known as the prayer walk on campus. It's a place where you go to run or jog or pray. anyway a weird tradition they have with that is if you walk around the prayer walk with the opposite sex three times it's thought that you are going to marry that person.... weird...
2. Collins and Davis. Both closed but there legacy still lives on in Bridges. oh those are all dorms btw. so basically guys were initiated into the dorms by doing these stupid things. Davis was an all guy dorm so they were like the closest thing to do with Greek. anyway there is also collins an all girl dorm which i missed by a semester... anyway one of the initiations was to ask a collin cow out. that's what the girls were called... Collin cows... so the Davis guys moo'd at them and the Collin girls liked it... weird...
3. Another Collins thing was the girls would have this candlelight thing. All the girls would come down in there PJ's and have a candlelight for a girl who was getting proposed to or getting married. anyway the ring would be put around the candle and passed around... when it got to the Bride to be she would blow the candle out... WEIRD!!!
4. The prayer tower... legend states that the old President Dr. Guynes was praying one day and he got a vision of a couple doing the dirty deed in the prayer tower... so he went up with a bunch of faculties and staff people and they brought blankets to cover the couple up... so they make it up two stories of stairs and there the couple is... that's why the prayer tower is closed... WEIRD!!!
so anyone remember old college traditions... something your college was known for? anything crazy happen on your campus? I would like to hear stories please! with a cherry on top!
I want you to go back to college or university and remember!!!

Wish I knew those traditions Skittles. I had to work and go to college at night and all summers. My niece Karen graduated from Yale and that college is full of traditions. We spent 4 days during her graduation just immersed in fun traditions at Yale.....from listening to the Whiffenpoofs singing "Sally Gardens" to boat races and silly hats.
If I could live life over again, I would find a way to go to college full time and just enjoy being a young girl. Enjoy your college years Skittles, you're very lucky:-6.

You were just mentioning this on my profile regarding my mention of "Handsome Dan"... We had some great traditions at Yale such as you discussed, Kathy Ellen. My favorite events at Yale were the annual Harvard-Yale Regatta and The Game. There's also the old tradition of smashing clay pipes underfoot at graduation, whilst singing Bright College Years.
At the U of C we had the annual Scavenger Hunt, often considered to be the biggest scavenger hunt in the world.
