Any advice ?
If not, any suggestions as to how I can prevent myself from crying and screaming out MOMMY !!!
For the taser: Chain mail. If you don't have that, then wrap your body in aluminum foil. It will spread and dilute the charge evenly over your entire body. It'll feel like a nice massage.
Condition yourself for the mace by wiping liberal amounts of wasabi inside your nostrils two to three times daily. A little dab in the eyes as well, if you're really concerned.

1999. It was to be the first time in 25 years that all five of us siblings were in the same room at the same time. We were meeting in Louisiana, coming from as near as North Carolina and as far as Italy, and we were in Okinawa Japan. Our military flight was delayed for repairs, first a few hours, then a day, then three. We scrambled to find a civilian flight, but they were all booked. We got on every waiting list, but it was no good. We didn't make it.
My sister sent me the video of the rest of the family sitting in the church basement meeting ancient relatives (who were somehow still alive) and looking painfully bored. I cried like a baby.
Last Spring I was drowning in the responsibilities of my new job. Meetings, lesson plans, parents, principals, training sessions. I was teaching 6 high school subjects each day while other teachers taught one 6 times. One Saturday at about 1pm I suddenly remembered that I was supposed to have taken the final test for my teacher's certification at 8am that morning. I cried as my world crashed around me.
But you might be gay.

Why do coffee maker maufacturers strongly recommend their product will work better by filling the reservoir with cold water as opposed to hot water ?
Also why dont they just tell you in the manual so I dont have to come here and ask you stupid questions ?

:yh_glasse I think that's worthy of an experiment. Fill your coffee maker's reservoir with steaming hot water (not boiling because it's unsafe) and let me know how the coffee tastes. It may not be as stupid a question as you think.

You and whose army?
Okay, I'll go. But I could have saved you hundreds of dollars on car insurance.
Yeh, she said you called her that.
HA! I'll bet this isn't even your house. Let's see the deed.
*dropping to your knees* My contact! Don't move! You might step on it. Go get me some help! I told you to watch where you're going! Are you going to help me or just stand there all day?!??
This isn't my office. :-2
I'm from Publisher's Clearinghouse. You didn't win the 10 million, but you did get a free home inspection as a consolation prize.
Shut up, kid. Where's your mother?
Property! That's all you righ-wing wackos care about is yourself! What about the poor?? What about the homeless?? I'll bet you don't even give to charity do you? Can you let me see your phone and financial records to verify that?
Do you kiss your wife with that mouth? Now I'll have to wash mine.

They told me today that instead of teaching algebra in the first period it would be 9th and 10th grade English. It's kind of hard to take things too seriously when you get hits with things like that, so you just shrug and go sign for the new set of books.

Outstanding speech! Big props to the next Great Communicator. Too bad he's not running for governor, since most of the changes he wants to make are supposed to be the states' jurisdiction.

Much smoother than expected. I have a very angry young man who was clearly led to believe that he would be out of the behavior unit this year. I think his teachers told him what he wanted to hear just to have a little peace. Now I'm cleaning up the mess. BUT, standard active listening and empathy has him focused on a 6-week plan that puts full responsibility in his hands. Working with him earned respect for me from the other students as well.
That, combined with a smaller class than I expected leaves me enough energy to take on the rest of the chaos that the first of the year brings. I'm a happy man! :-6

I'm more a libertarian, little L, I think. Have I always been one? No. I was an apathetic slug until I was near 30.
The more I studied and listened, the more I realize how far from our foundation the Constitution provides we have strayed and continue to stray. Just once I want to hear someone ask a politician 'what will you do for me?' receive the answer "I'll get out of your way."
Poetry rarely moves me, but music can make me cry.
