Glad you're checking in everyday Yankee......keep safe. You're smart to move out for awhile just incase. What have you heard lately about your area....haven't had a chance to watch the news as I just got home

I heard tonight it wasn't near as bad as they had thought........electricity out in alot of places and that will last awhile.

hoping all is fine now with our southern yankee!

GEESCH - I watched footage on Havana, and then New Orleans and heard everything was heading towards Baton Rouge, where it suddenly occurred to me that dear Southern Yankee was.. I see she posted yesterday. Has anyone heard from her today, or has an update?

not today Pam.............she did go to her brothers home to stay, as it is made of brick...........but nothing since last nite, but as I had just said tonight, most electricity is out and will continue to be at least until tomorrow.

Apparently the hurricane wasn't nearly as bad as they thought.

we've all been praying for her safe return home.

Thanks Shelbell and Odie - I saw that the Gustav is now considered a force 1, so that is lots better. Hopefully, she's fine, and her house etc hasn't suffered any damage.

Up to 1 million people have lost electricity and it wasn't as bad as Katrina, so I'm sure we will all hear from Southern Yankee in a week or two.

now we have Hanna, Ike and Josephine..havent checked the latest updates but Hanna might or might not come in about sixty miles from me at latest check i made to the weather channel..my oh my..what a busy season for storms..yikes!!!!!!

Yes, a trio of them out there, we looked them up and tracked them in school this morning, watched while they named Josephine who was picking up some speed. Take care southern yankee.
