What's With Egg Grading??

Post by Lon »

What's going on with the grading of eggs. I bought some AAA Grade Jumbo eggs today and when I opened the box they looked like quail eggs. The AA eggs looked the same as far as size. It used to be that AAA were bigger than AA and certainly bigger than A. Guess I will have to consider duck eggs for my omelet.

I believe the grading is by weight, not size.

Now if you want to talk about tires you might find this interesting.

There is a cryptic code on all tires determining the manufacturing date. Some tires sold as new may actually be years old.

Eggs....tires....its all the same isnt it ?

My mum told me when i was a little girl that brown eggs came from hens who didn't wipe their bottoms properly. I believe it to this day & can't face a brown egg. Oh parents have alot to answer to.
