What Has an Effect On You?

Okay i've been watching Titanic tonight and boohooing as usual! :-1

Is there anything, movie, tv show, song etc, that has an effect on you regardless of how many times you've seen it or heard it?

I loved the movie Titantic but what really made me mad was the fact that they screwed over the steerage crowd in favor of the wealthy. Sound familiar?

OH SHOOT..i cant think of the name of it..but shirley McClaine is the mother and she has a grown daughter that has a terrible life..her husband leaves her..and she ends up dieing..i cry every single time i see this.:-1

I sat here and sobbed reading the bereaved thread this morning..about the posters losing their daughters..i know if i open it , i will cry again.and again.........:-1

"Passion of the Christ" i went to the movie theater to see it..five minutes after it started..i started crying and cried through the whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooole

Tiatanic is one of my alltime favorite movies, but there are so many things about the story that make me mad!

the treatment of the steerage passengers like you said, not having enough lifeboats, but the biggest thing that gets me is at the end when they are in the water, they could have figured out a way for both of them to get out of the water!

my husband and i used to talk about that scene a lot, i always said if it had been us out there i would have figured out a way for both of us to get out of the water!

Jack Nickolson is the neighbor. I love that other movie he made "Somethings Gotta Give". He always plays the most unlikely romantic guy.

Why do people prefer Titanic to the earlier version, A Night To Remember? I'm convinced that was far and away the more effective movie.

I also loved "A League of Their Own" and I always tear up when "A Family Stone and It's A Wonderful Life come on tv.

OMG! i didn't even try to go see Passion of the Christ! i knew it would have such an awful effect on me i might not ever get over it, so i didn't dare try!

then i heard about a woman who went and got so upset she had a heart attack and died, and i said uh huh! that could have been me!

The song "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion My dad died about the same time this song came out and I've always thought how appropriate of the timing...It still gets to me whenever I hear it.

A Night to Remember is a good movie too, but what makes Titanic for me is the music, there something so haunting about that music! it wouldn't be nearly as good a movie if thay had chose some other style of music to score it with!

That is a really hard movie to sit thru...I could only do it once.

Being a Christian, that movie really hits home, he's going thur all of that for us!

it justs makes me feel so unworthy to even think about it!

i'm a big crybaby at movies anyway but i will never attempt to see that one, it would hurt me to much!

yeah you go into it realizing that all those people are gonna die, but then you get caught up in the story!

Mel Gibsons Braveheart was another one, that movie had me wrecked for about a week!

You are so right, it is painful to watch as a Christian, and I was sad for a few days, but then I came to realize that He did that for us and give us an eternal heaven. Just think of what a magnificent gift He gave us.:-6
