I've Got A Problem

Post by Lon »

After considerable anticipation, study, reading, thought and anguish, I have made a decision that I do not like any of the candidates running for president or vice president of the U.S. I had the same problem with the last election.

Is this really the best we have?

I don't think it's the best we have Lon.

I think it's media spin and who has the most campaign money/who has the best speaking voice. I think we've lost several candidates with potential because of stuff such as this. And I'm not happy with our choices either.

Lon

your not alone..I'm not happy with either candidate.

So many of my friends feel the same - DON'T WANT/like EITHER.

you have to vote for one to counter the other.??

what do we do toss a coin?

Has there ever been a incident where the People (us regular little people)

select a individual - support & that individual wins PRES..?

Couldn't we protest these 2 and introduce our choice????

This is serious - our Country will be dictated by whom??

I see a riot at the outcome.

There could be. But people in general won't do that because they think they're "throwing away" their vote. Ask Accountable about this. He says it best.

Apparently the voters in the primary elections thought so which begs the question is the problem them or us. :-5

Well...

Look at all of the local elections and I'd suggest vote for which candidate will have the best effect upon your desire to see specific peoples elected within the House, Senate, and governorships...

:yh_bigsmi...

I'm afraid Obama/Biden -- McCain/Palin is all there is!!!...

What you mean to ask is not 'is this really the best we have?'.. you should say 'is this really the best our private sector's money can buy?'

Not even close to the best we have, but the reigning parties, really one party with two names, have a stranglehold on our political system. Most Americans - and most American FG'ers who've expressed a view, think we have to pick the lesser of two evils rather than voting for who they believe will do the best job.

I've got to ask. How much does the head of state really matter. Whenever there's a crisis who are they going to turn to, their advisors, right? Look at some of the decisions Bush made, I bet one of his advisors called him and said something like "nothing for you to worry about, we'll handle it" when he was sat in that classroom.
I'm too compassionate to be an utter bastard.

Too self respecting to be a caring idiot.

Too much pride to give up the self respect.

And not willing to take the rap for a lack of compassion.

Where does this leave me? Nowhere. What does this leave me? Nothing. Who does this leave me? Noone.

Voting for good men and women as local and state legislators will probably have a more direct effect on your community.

Get involved.

To give your full support to every policy they have or might have during their term? They have to be better than the best of a bad bunch for that.
