I still don't know what a 'bitch-slapping' is. I think Spot has been mixing in the wrong social circles of late.:-2

"bitch" is a derogatory term used both for females and males..."Bitch" more predominantly is used to belittle women but is also used to refer to men as "weak" and "not a real man"...

"bitch-slap" in the context from which spot has written the term illustrates his opinion that McCain won't just lose but by a large margin...

Oh and obviously "bitches" get's slapped...

Oh i see. In that case Spot, you've been spending far too much time in Easton.

That's a very un-British thing to say and would not go down well here. Mr Oscar thought we needed to call the RSPCA on Spot for animal cruelty.

Where has Spot got this new vocablary from?? Have i missed some-thing? Is Obama using this in his speeches??

So you think Obama is going to win by a landslide do you???

The other puzzle nobody's looked at is the new composition of the Senate. Is it really going to be a 60:40 Democrat majority?

The term yes but the humor no...

"bitch-slap" is also predominantly used in African American communities...

First African American Presidential candidate/"bitch-slap"..It all makes sense...

I did think it were a bit of a stretch for something spot would use but seeing as how I'm familiar with the humor it's not too overly shocking...

But then again it is spot we're talking about!!!!!!...:yh_rotfl...

I'm not surprised but to be honest I think this might actually hurt him a bit...

I doubt significantly as much as it would have had such been discovered sooner, but none the less I think it might hurt him a bit...

I can't see McCain winning legitimately though by a long shot so...

I might vote tomorrow I might not...

No, that they're corrupt enough to release the fact to the news outlets in the last week of the election.

It has come at rather a bad time for him hasn't it?

I think he should have put all his cards on the table in the beginning and he would have riden the storm. This just makes people think 'What else is there that we don't know about' and really no-one can blame them for thinking like that.

It's a good political strategy if they have kept this back.

It could cost him big time now.

The newest dirt on Obama is sure to hurt his numbers. I dont know if its bad enough to make him actually lose though. But we shall see. Many are having second thoughts. Because, as one poster said, If he lied about this then what else is he hiding? Furthermore, what will he hide and lie about in the future....if he gets elected?

We complain here in Britain that all we get is boring men in dull grey suits. Although there is something oddly attractive i find about Gordon Brown. We certainly have our share of 'sleeze' with our our politicians but what i have been reading about Obama over the last months, frankly, alarms me. Just when you think there can be nothing else to come out of the woodwork, some new story hits the headlines.

What i find also alarming, is that everything that is thrown at him, he simply denies. I have said before, but the journalists that have been researching him here in Britain, can not make it up, they would be sued if they did not have hard evidence.

There is only a certain amount that he can keep denying before people get very suspicious and quite rightly so.

I have not known a Presidential candidate with so many dodgy secrets since Kennedy.

I have googled the Washington Post and the new york times tonight and they all seem to be saying that the lead is closing and McCain is gaining. This last piece of news about Obama could be his final downfall.

The FBI's not supposed to be involved in political strategy. If they truly did know about this and waited to announce it for effect, heads should roll.

Allow myself??!?? :wah:

John Stossel owned a beach house that was wiped out by a hurricane. He thought it was silly that the gov't and his insurance company was willing to rebuild it for him - sillier still that they wouldn't let him build in a safer area, only in the same spot. But he took their offer. Who wouldn't?

If I found myself being one of "the ones that took out loans they cant afford are minimal compared to the rest of us that are realistic" I wouldn't be me, not that that's particularly relevant. I will take any opportunity to get some of my taxes back, out of principle.

If I were part of the Katrina evacuation and a FEMA worker pushed a $1000 cash card in my hand, I'd take it and put it in my wallet next to my credit card I pay off every month.... and I'd spend it, even though I didn't need it out of practicality.

I never indicated that I thought there weren't gray areas. You and I agree that only a small minority need any help at all. Of those, fewer still are in their situation through circumstances outside their control. Those are the people who deserve help, and those few of the few can be helped individually without another huge bureaucratic program being created.

I dont recall those words ever coming out of your mouth in the past. Maybe they have but Ive not seen them.

You have to admit your a pretty black and white kind of guy, fairly rigid in your standards.

That you do have compassion and realize there are actually people suffering and as fellow humans they deserve dignity then I have no argument with you.

I honestly wasnt sure.I don't think I have spelled it out that explicitly. I am pretty rigid. I'll do all I can to help when I can, such as with the Katrina evacuation. It is very rewarding to help others. What chaps me is the idea of a centralized national program ostensibly designed to help those who need it. Such a bureaucracy begs for abuse and wastes far more tax dollars than it spends wisely. There is far more compassion and dignity in face-to-face assistance than in a FEMA-style 'take a number' system, and the chances are tremendously higher that the people that need help will get it and those who would abuse the system will be shown the door.

It wouldn't be a revelation risking hurting his campaign at the last minute if he was open and flagged it up earlier.

I thought "If he lied about this then what else is he hiding?" was quite direct. If you're saying our Californian friend is adding two and two to get five then that's fair enough.

Im having some doubts about the predicted Obama win.

There are too many undecided voters to make that assumption.

A Florida Ohio Pennsylvania turn towards McCain would put him over 270 electoral votes.

I predicted and bet $1,000 in Spots betting shop that McCain would come in around 300, so great minds think alike.

I think the polls and the media have hyped Obama to the max. I really do believe that voting in privacy may show a different side and there could be a huge swing to McCain. I loved his appearence on QVC. If McCain loses Florida, Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvanis, i will be going to bed early. Our kick off here is tonight at 11 pm. If McCain holds them, I'll be up all night.

Mr Oscar says 'Your own yer own' Thanks.

Today, he asked me what college votes meant.

God Mr Oscar, have you been listening to anything i have been banging on about for months?????

Among the people I have overheard talking about the election or spoken to directly most seem reluctant to come out and tell me who they are voting for, even back when I hadn’t completely decided yet they were still that way. I think going into this election is a huge unknown for everyone. I bet the politicians look at the polls and question the accuracy as much as we do.

But I'm glad you're doubting, it tells me your boy isn't as golden as you think! :D

I may have under estimated the mathematical possibilities.

Its an indication that voters are really taking this seriously.

By the way, guys, nearly every person has a something in their past, whether it be an illegal aunt or a past crime or driving offence that could bite each and every one of us on the ass...Aint his fault his aunts an illegal, your voting for Obama not his aunt. If you went for a job interview and your Aunt was an illegal, would you think you would have to mention it?? No thought not...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'm heading out to vote... should be fun!
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

Folks who'd like to copy my intellectual work should expect to pay me for it.:-6

I am hoping against hope for an Obama win, please vote him in, I couldn't stand another 4 years of those whack jobs in the other party (they are not all like that, but it seems to me like the whack jobs are slowly taking over). If Sarah Palin is elected Vice President of the United States of America I am going to dig a hole and throw myself into it, its the only rational thing left to do.

COME ON PEOPLE, VOTE FOR OBAMA, PLEASE! :yh_flag :yh_shamrk :yh_flag
