How long Bez ? Whens closing ? You're renting now ? Do you have a lease ? Are you going to have to pay to get out of it ? How will you be decorating ? Are you going for a particular look ? Are you familiar with the neighborhood ? Will you be close to family ?

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

#1 - 6 to 8 weeks

#2 - 6 to 8 weeks

#3 - yes I'm renting now....the agreement runs out at the end of Feb. but I can renew on a monthly basis if i need to.(I have budgeted to stay renting fo 1 month so that I can decorate and re-vamp)

#4 - I don't have a lease on the rented property, only a rental agreement. The new property is 'leashold' which means I have to pay annual ground rent and mainteneace charges but they are'nt too expensive.

#5 - N/A

#6 - I will be decorating with a roller, paint brush and whatever paint i decide to use.:D

#7 - 'The Look' will be exclusive and tasteful using the same neutral colour throughout. it will be 'minimal' ....my living room furniture is light maple....when I re-vamp the kitchen it will be white

#8 - I know the neighbourhood quite well. It is quite near the sea in the same town that I live in now.

#9 - I will be as close to the family as i am now.

This all sounds good. 8 weeks seems like a long time but it will let you get prepared in all ways.

It might be quicker, but the work rate of solicitors and bureaucrats is slow here and I'm not sure how quickly the 'seller' wants to move.

The quicker we complete, the more time I have for decorating etc.

Try not to start the place on fire.

Thats my very best advice.

Don't worry....I'll have extinguishers at strategic points.
