I know exactly how you feel. Because while I worked for UPS in the HR dept, my favorite boss in my whole world was transferred.....while I was on vacation. ! I came back from a nice vacation to find out that my boss was no longer going to be there. I still think that our manager had a thing for him and was jealous that he and I were so friendly and I covered for him while he was out doing other things. And I cried for weeks. I mean even while I was at my desk. And it was worse to hear the other supervisors talking badly about him around me. I had to hold back my tears and bite my tongue for weeks. I never got over that. He and I emailed each other and spoke on the phone and I saw him at department meetings, but he was not there to see me every day, have pizza with, go shopping for office supplies with, deal with employee issues with. And the worst part by far, was that my new boss was a overzealous and extremely power hungry 23 year-old girl who had never even been in a position like that in a company that large. She and I clashed badly.

Oh cinamin hugs to you too, that has happened in our company too a few months ago the very best boss my boss and I could ever have left and the bad talk about him after was horrific and I know my boss/friend was forbidden to talk to the past pres by the current pres it has been awful. I know when my boss leaves next month it will start all over again with bad talk about her. Aw I think we are all allowed a collective cry over great people we have lost at work
