Hope everybody's OK, and that nobody's snowed in, flooded out, parched dry, blown inside out ! Weather here is cloudy, it has been raining, but the sun is trying to force it's way through the cloud and the temp. is not too bad !
Next door have had a major refit to their bathroom, sitting room and kitchen ! I think the hammer drills are finished with now, and there isn't any more comings and goings by workmen. Herself has moved a load of 'surplus to requirement' stuff out onto the front lawn, and the lot has been carted off to the tip, I'm pleased to say, because it was beginning to look a bit like our local tip with all the junk piled up. We have a shared front path to our front doors, so her front garden is one side of the path and ours is the other (of course  ), but to a casual passer-by, the junk could just as easily have been ours !
Our neighbour's house (semi-det with ours) is owned by a housing association, so all this refurbishing is being paid for by the housing association. I haven't seen what has been done, but my hubby saw the kitchen through their open back door, the other day as he walked by, and he said that it had been made really marvellous inside with new fitments, tiling, painting, sink unit, work surfaces, wall units, base units. Very posh ! Lucky buggers! I expect the bathroom is just as posh :wah: The house has been completely re-wired as well!
It's alright for some innit ! I did have a feeling a while ago that the neighbour was planning on leaving, but I suspect she will be staying, for the forseable future
now ! :yh_rotfl I'm just so relieved that all the banging, drilling, sawing has stopped, and there is a certain peace hovering over us - till their dog starts barking cos they're all out all day and it's bored and lonely. The dog 'Lotty' is a gorgeous black labrador, and very friendly, and adores our big 'Rex'. Sorry Lotty but Rex, although interested, won't be able to give you any mini Lotties ! He lost a bit of weight when he was in the Animal Shelter before we adopted him - he had 'chops' and 'chips' there. (yes he has a chip ID in him). Poor Rex, the spirit is willing me old mate, bless him, but the end product - well forget it :yh_rotfl
This is Rex, the other day, waiting for his Cartrophen injection, for arthritis. It's proving very helpful for him. Expensive for us, but he's well worth it! :-4
next time you go, ask if they have a spare one ................. could do with some of that myself lol xx
