A ridiculous premise

SnoozeControl wrote: I belong to a "book club" that sends me mysteries, but the one I received today had me rolling my eyes. Here's the blurb:

Following a tragic plane crash, no one believed that Golden Spurs ranch heiress Mia Kemble could have survived. And no one is more surprised to find out she's been languishing in a Mexican prison than loner cowboy Shaghai Knight, Mia's former lover. Shanghai has fought hard to put the past behind him, and has finally become as successful as the stuck-up Kembles. So why can't he forget Mia, or their one night of passion? Suddenly Shanghai knows he needs a plan.

Jeez.:yh_eyerol Couldn't the author come up with a better name than Shanghai?

If anyone likes this sort of thing I'll be happy to send it to you. ;)

ahahahahahahaha that is pathetic indeed, and you know there is a Jackie Chan flick out there called Shanghi Knights, I think he and owen wilson are in it. That is really bad indeed.

Bonzai cowboy rescues golden heifer, and in the process the shy rodeo clown, Frivoleta, falls in love with him. The first in a series of 13 upcoming novels! Buy them all!

We should write a screen play together..................

*gazing longingly at each other*

Bonzai: Oh, my darling....................

Frivoleta: *bats her eyes*

*heifer approaches from the right*

Bonzai: Come here my little heifer.............

Frivoleta: Oh, my darling!

Bonzai: Not you! That's good money on the hoof, chick!

Its brilliant so far............... and you even have the eternal triangle!

So tell me.......does Bonzai love Frivoleta, whilst Frivoleta loves the heifer and the heifer adores Bonzai??

Or does Bonzai love Frivoleta, whilst Frivoleta loves the heifer who turns out to be either in love with the cowpoke from across the way or...shock, horror,...perhaps the heifer is gay! My what a twist in the tail! hehe :wah:

Of course, you have to have the bad guy so perhaps the heifer is just spreading rumours about Frivoleta so Bonzai will love him or her instead, even though the heifer is only after Bonzais money and doesnt really love him at all.....

Good Lord! I obviously read far too much of this rubbish in my impressionable youth...............*sigh*

How sad can one person be?? :wah: :p

with a name like shaghai, I'm surprised he's not on the corner of Kings Cross turning tricks.
