Sex, sex, sex, well somtimes we're mad for it, sometimes we couldn't be bothered, sometimes were like teddy bears other times not. Its best not to read too deeply into sexual urges as they are a bit mad really. I find sometimes when talking to friends of both sexes about this stuff that they are always questioning themselves about sex (I do too, everyone does), but I think if you worry about it too much, it becomes something it isn't (a problem).

It goes away!?! God, I sure hope not!

DH and I have been together for going on 10 years now and while I won't pretend that everything has been fabulous the whole time, we are pretty much horn dogs. Races to the bedroom were commonplace before he left and I am eternally grateful that my children are old enough that we have been able to lock the bedroom door in the middle of the afternoon without feeling guilty.

Oooo my fave topic too.

It goes away for many reasons

stress which leads to folks being

a) always tired

b) unable to perform

Complacent partners, which = no spark and ultimately no desire and sleep or other interests ie) different bed times, watching TV, playing on the comptuer during a time that should be for partners.

Partners growing apart from each other and the first failure is generally the sex life.

Partners cheating hmmm good sign that something is up if your sex life comes to an abrupt halt.

Different ideas of sex, one wants to try new things one is happy with the same old same old. It grows old and soon becomes a drag.

I would have to say one of THE best things that came out of my divorce... a second chance with a way better sexual and sensual partner.

flopstock wrote: No darlin, YOU don't need anything different, or need to wonder what ifs... what you have is what i'm talking about that is getting lost between folks...you WANT her and there is no doubt in her mind or yours that she 'does it' for you, like nobody else could. The way you two are is the way you have always been..you've kept it. And don't envy technique or wonder what it would be like if this or that was tried...if it's working, don't fix it. Different strokes for different folks really does apply in this situation.

I get what you mean about hearing it and thinking 'wow' far... I walk into a clean house at a friends and think 'wow' wouldn't it be great to have the house look this nice? How much effort would it take? But I'm happy and content in my clutter and using my time for other things, so when it gets right down to it, yeah it's great to see it can be done and i can appreciate it for the moment, but it's just not me...and I don't think I would be nearly as happy if I tried to live that way...;)

Floppy I think you and I were separated at birth, I follow your thinking to a T.

Far Rider wrote: Geeze I reveal too much here, but I have a friend who tells me I need to open up a bit and this may be the wrong place but I feel compelled so here goes...

The level of sexual desire in my life is directly perportional to my level of honest communication with my wife... when her and I are totally open and honest with each other we are open and enjoy each other totally. When we choose to withhold our thoughts and feelings (sometimes to protect the other) we drift apart. Those times I had come home and we made love more on our wild side was preceeded by open honest letters from me, where I revealed my deepest thoughts on all kinds of subjects.

Lately with all kinds of business and personal thoughts tampering around in my head, I have somewhat closed off and with the baby, and certain medical problems right now we cant really engage in much...

But we should be in each others arms in a different way right now and we are not. Much soul searching, decisions, whacked out crazy schemes, money and other issues have distracted me from my life.

Honestly speaking, if your not giving 100% to your spouse all the time, sex, or the showing of affection gives way to the busy thoughts of life. I suppose there is a balance but the balance should tip toward your spouse and not the business of life.

Thanks floppy you helped me to see something Ive been noticing and rejecting.

Oh and as a post note,

sex is no fun if you don't give 100%

Some folks need to just let go and enjoy sex for what it is, and they may be pleasantly surprised.

Floppy, I'm not as free and open about sex as you are. I love sex. I need sex. My biological clock is ticking and kicking into overdrive. My maternal instincts feel like they have been on hold forever but...

It has to be with one special man that I am in a committed relationship with, and I will rock his world like no other. My man will always have a contented smile on his face. That's for sure.

With that being said, I'm just going to continue to keep my eyes peeled for that one lucky guy. When I do find him, though, he's not going to know what hit him! :)

Sex 'goes' after enough rejections. :-2

Every relationship I've had has started out wonderful in the sexual arena. Then time passes and I get told I'm over-sexed.

Guess I need to make better choices, huh?

Flopstick, you're right on the mark with sex!

34 yrs I was married to a man that we couldn't keep our hands off each other. People around us thought we were newlyweds! :wah: My man had no problem sliding into the tub with me almost nightly. What could be sexier than that?! One thing led to another...and yes...we did play with the chocolate too. Chocolate and sex girls, do go together nicely, if ya know what I mean! ;)

Even though I'm only 33, its been my general observation that men start out being obsessed with sex when their young and then get less interested as they get older, women seem to do the opposite, there must be a median age where both men and women are at the same libido level (I'm hoping its 34!). I know men have their mid-life crisis thing when they go bald and fat and they date 19 year olds and want sports cars, but I think thats coz they wanna be young again nt because they get sex-mad again (I may be wrong, older men please comment), but then again a lot of older women take lovers and all that don't they? Anyway, what was my point? Erm, sex, its brilliant, especially if your covered in chocolate, and have just eaten Italian food, (well according to you lot anyway).

I'm glad to see Galbally, that you have a yearning to learn what the female gender likes, wants and needs. Age doesn't matter, it's what you feel with your heart, how you keep the embers burning and yearning for one another. And, a great imagination works wonders too! ;)
