Do you have to pay for any other TV / Radio services. In the UK we have to pay for a license to watch Terrestrial TV . Satellite TV costs a lot extra although a 1 off payment for a 'digi box' will get you 75 extra channels (some are radio). It all adds up if you want lots of choice.

I have satellite radio and love every minute of it. Where I live, I can only receive 2 local radio channels...either oldies or a country channel. With satellite radio, it's endless opportunity for any kind of music. I pay for it by the year, which brings the cost per month to $8.95. And, what's nice, I can put the unit in my truck too.

Is it commercial free? I tell ya, if I spent more time in my car, I would def. pay $13.00 a month to hear actual music instead of a song and 4 commercials.

I listen to country music in my car and I would love to hear more then just the top 20 songs all day.

Yes..I too, listen to country music. They have classic, 90's and today, progressive, traditional, bluegrass, folk and top country hits channels. All commercial free.

There's also rock, pop, decades (40's to the 90's music), christian, hip hop, jazz and blues, dance, latin, classical, news channels, sports channels, talk channels of comedy and entertainment and traffic and weather channels.

We have satellite radio............and we like it. I really do think there is more variety in the talk shows and the music. I hate paying for anything but sometimes you just have to give in.

We have the XM. My haband first got it for the tractor cause he was tired of our local stations playing same songs over and over.

He likes the satalite because he can listen to the old radio show mysteries or comedy or music.

He even likes Opie and Anthony, HOward Stern's arc enemy.

Yeah...Your husband is crazy all right. As a loon. For the price he is paying for satellite radio, he could buy a CD every month, download it to an MP3 player and get the same effect, except he would OWN the music and could make mixes and CDs of his own on his computer.

I have a 2 gig MP3 player and with over 1000 songs on it, it'll be a long, long time before I hear the same song again. And Hey! When I'm tired of those songs, I load up another 1000!

See? Withthat many CDs you can build your own radio station. The way I do it is that I have one of those "Cassette to CD" adapters that fits in the cassette slot and has a headphone wire coming out of it. Then I just velcro my MP3 player to the dash, plug it in, and viola! 45 hours of uninterrupted music! 60 CD's worth! And the best part? It's all the songs that I like!
