BOND Girl or Woman?

Post by cars »

Lately there has been some controversy over whether the reference to the new BOND female S/B called BOND Girl, or BOND Woman.

So it started me thinking, at what age (is there one) should a girl be called a woman & not girl? :-2

I think being a woman is not an actual timeline, but more of a mindset. Some females are woman at 16, while others become "woman" much later. Some even go from child to girl to old woman....................skipping "WOMAN" all together (and that is very sad to see) :D .

Yes I agree SOJO, but what I was trying to get at is, in the eyes of the world, is there a proper age where you don't call a woman a girl? Like publically is it BOND Girl, or is it BOND Woman? Just wondering is one or the other like disrespectiful?

Girl can be used to demean a female the same way boy is used to demean males.

Using the term 'woman' is an invitation.

Using the term 'girl' sort of lets you know "your place".

Bond girl definitely! Bond woman sounds wrong! It puts a different image in your head!

I'll always be a girl, I don't relate to being called a woman!:D
