DC! The nation's capital!
I live in DC (go to college there), and I have to tell you that it is a tremendous place to visit for a few days to a week. Seeing the monuments, the national archives and all the great museums is incredible.
Additionally, there are great hidden gems like the Spy Musuem and Dupont Circle!

Many good eating establishments are there as well, and the war memorials are moving. A pretty good football team also resides there.

Oh you are definitely right about the eating establishments. Although as a college student, I don't often get to go out. Do you recommend any in particular?

Here is a list for affordable eating, since college students are on a limited income.

I enjoy Greek food, and this one is a favorite of mine.

My daughter & I have gone on bus trips down to Arlington, the memorials, & the Smithsonian a couple of times. We never tire of it! It's beautiful on a spring day! VERY fascinating! I've never been downtown though.
Oh, & when I was a little girl, my mom used to pick us up from school early & take us along to go visit my father, who was a patient at Walter Reed Hospital. I always found it exciting!

My brother lives there and I am about to go for my 3rd visit. I love the place.
Not so much for the museums, we Europeans are rather spoilt for choice in that regard, but for wonderful restaurants, top bars, some really excellent bierkeller style pubs with mind blowing selections of beers, diners, Georgetown and just really friendly people

Clipper, you just give me a call when you want to go to DC-I use any excuse to go down there. I could visit the Archives daily and be in heaven.

Does the Bush stench permeate the air in the museums I wonder ?
I mean the odor must seep into everything am I right ?
How can you enjoy the magnificent sights with that stink pervading and enveloping the whole town ? Do you wear masks there or what ?

Nomad, when you do go into the Archives and buildings like that in DC, first picture you see will be the President-so................if you hate to see his pic, I'll warn you ahead of time.
