I hate my hair

Post by weeder »

Ive spent a lifetime hating my hair. Just got up and what it looks like is unbelievable. God put the hair on my head in the wrong place on my body. It doesnt move!! Im so sick of looking at magazines or others peoples manes, and trying to have a look I like on me. It isnt straight... it isnt curly.. its sort of in between. It looks terrible long.... looks like fur if its short. Ive spent a fortune on useless conditioners and treatments to controll it. They are all the same. Ive colored it, clipped it, wrapped it, tried to ignore it, and still it has a mind of its own. Ive colored it for years. Two years ago I started doing that thing with the highlights. 96.00 each visit for the color and a trim. I gave it up. Too expensive.I wish I could just accept it for what it is.. and that once in a while it would just cooperate with me. I cant stop battling this. Im getting too old for this. But if I give up it means Im not a girl anymore, right? How do you feel about your hair?

Oh I hate my hair too!! We have never seemingly had a good day together for ages. The only time that I feel better, is when it is cut, and then it looks a little more respectable. But other than that it's a nightmare, I just try to ignore it and get on with my day, but it doesn't help having so many mirrors in our house let me tell u! :wah:

Hi Weeder,

we all have bits of ourselves we hate! Why not spend your money on a top quality hairdresser, they should be able to make it look wonderful! :-6

Failing that, shave your head and buy a wig! :wah:

Cheer up hunny, we love you and you look wonderful to us! Hugs! :yh_hugs

I bet your hair is beautiful. Let it grow the way you want to-highlighting and dying never change the real you anyway.

I don't cut my hair, it is long and I have never dyed it. I don't care what fashion mags have to say about glamor-all I know is, my hair looks great and I'm not changing it for anyone. Even at my age, it's my hair the men are looking at when I walk into the room-so I keep this one last conceit of mine until I don't care about those men's looks.:) But I still do!

People with curly hair want straight hair. People with straight hair want curly hair. I'm just grateful to have hair. I dye it not because I don't like the color, I like change and like to have fun with different shades. If you don't like your hair that much, maybe accentuate what you do like and draw attention away from your hair.

I've always hated my hair - not straight and not curly, kinda like candy floss til I iron it out with the straightners. But after the break up of my marriage it started falling out and breaking off. Only now, 3 months later, it has finally stopped falling out and I can go to bed peacefully knowing I'm not gonna wake up bald! So now I'm grateful for the head of hair I've got, candy floss or not!!! :wah:

Try not to stress about it ;)

Being half native american, mine is straight as a nail and just hangs there. Baby fine until I apply the super glue in a can then scrunch like mad! LOL! For the first time, I find myself totally in style! :o

Hey Weed, be happy you got hair!!! My MIL has had "thinning" hair for the majority of her adult life. (also now noticing her "sisters" have the same problem)To the point now where my MIL's hair is so thin, she really is more "bald" looking then having hair. She refuses to ware a wig, can't figure out why not. Now, my wife is noticing that her hair is thinning at an alarming rate. She's using special conditioners, & vitamins she got at the salon, & she said it seems to be helping. So be glad if you still have curly, straight, gray, frizzy, dull, listless, or whatever kind of hair, cause you still have it!!!! :-2

Thanks guys.... I am really grateful to have hair at all. Though it is true.. I do not like the type hair I have. I just thought the hair topic would be a good light hearted subject. And cars... baldness in women runs on my fathers side of the family. You reminded me.. I should be thankful for my FUR.

I love my hair. It looks like the hair on the chicks in the Pantene commercials.

OK, its really long and dry and thick as hell so it always looks bushy. I always take the magazine to my hair person and show him the pictures of Jessica Simpson and Jennifer ANiston, and he says, "I cant work miracles!"

Weeder, I pay $125.00 for highlights and we live in the same state! I need to change!

When I saw the pantene part I was going to reply that I hated you.

Is there really hair like that? My color and highlights were 53.00 in Georgia. Maybe because I went religiously every 4 to 6 weeks. And she never cut it.First time back here in Va, 96.00 I got so fed up with my hair being dry.. I cut it the weekend we had the snow. Im not going to color it for a while until I decide what to do. I work outdoors also... so color rapidly gets brassy.

My hair annoys me, but I don't hate it. It's baby-fine and breaks when I brush it or wear a ponytail. Hence, I have long hair with a nice clump of shorter hair where my bangs should be and have lots of fly-aways.

Other than that, it's long and golden brown colored. I do love the natural color. Depending on the layer, it is blond, red and brown.
