Local Meat Cases

Post by weeder »

Any of you hang out much at the meat case in your supermarkets? Try it, you wouldnt believe whats going on. Its a great place for conversation and a way to get a feel for whats REALLY happening in the world. In the olden days people just sort of grabbed their meat, threw it in their cart, and wheeled off into the next aisle. Thats Not the way it is anymore........ Shoppers approach the meat with a frightened often despondent look on their faces. They hover, slowly scanning the case for something they can afford. Men lovingly pick up steaks, and lay them back down. Roughly, they grab a package of chuck chopped and FLING it into the wagon. Women scan the beef.... sidle down to the pork ( trying to wear a look that says"I dont care".... and often wind up in chicken.. with nary a chop in the wagon. Conversations like this one are common... " Dear God,.. Whats going on with the meat? These prices are outrageous. " Dont buy any dear, let it all rot in the case. " But what will we eat? I dont know... What is there to eat, if we dont eat meat? Come on hon... we will find SOMETHING in here. Today is Sunday. By next Friday, theyll be begging us to take it. Weyll get some then.

"MISSY! HEY, MISSY! who me? YEAH! dont touch those chops!!!! Why not? You run yourself over to the Walmart... I heard they just marked ALL the meat down.

Theres roasts and ribs ham and veal. So much marked down, it will make you squeal! Ok then... Psst Psst... Yes? Miss were you going to take that London Broil? "I dont know, why?" Well, I sort of had my eye on it. Its been quite a while since weve eaten meat. Oh, then do you think these are nice? WHAT DOES NICE have to do with it? My Buddy just lost his job at Dicker. Whats Dicker? Damn incredible, cheap, kick ass, electric razor company. Who knows when london broil will be on sale again. Or when Buddy will get another job?.......................................................................................................

So anyway... whats going on with the price of meat?

No, I'm sat here with wet hair feeling too lazy to go and dry and straighten it and just waiting for another post to appear that I can answer and hence procrastinate further...and devising evil plots too of course.

Anal exams...interesting, very interesting...

I spent a lot of time in Bag n' Save when I was in Omaha...I believe in living life to the full

Has Martins opened everywhere? Or are you and I neighbors here in Virginia?

Martins has brought all the foods here that Northern implants complain about not being able to find. They should be very successful.

Martin's opened a store here (PA) about two years ago. They have things that I'd never find closer to my home. I have to travel close to 75 miles to shop at it, but it's worth the trip to stock up on things once a month. Yes, they are doing quite well too. Barely a place to park to shop at that store.
