Nah...!! If your trying to gain info on where they live, and constantly ask for information they aren't willing to give then maybe its a bit like stalking.. But just reading a member post because you like what they have to say...Nah!! :D

Example: I know if I read NOMADNESS post I will probably be in for a good laugh so I look to see where the crazy guy has posted and read them.. :-3

I hope not. But the thought had crossed my mind when I'm looking for my favourites.

If anyone was "stalking " me in the garden I'd be flattered (and surprised :wah: )

I look for, or respond to, posts by my favorite members. Sometimes I look at their profiles... mainly to see if their age is posted. It helps me to understand who I am responding too. Some people I never will post a reply to because I dont like their attitudes. So, I just stay away.

When I first came into the Garden, I was just glad to be here and if someone actually spoke to me, I glowed indiscriminately.

I enjoy meeting people and think it's natural to want to know a bit more about those whose posts leap out at me. (I didn't notice at first, but there are a few others here who I don't care for and avoid - they may avoid me too).

Friendship is a special gift and something you work at. It may start with just one post out of the blue that sparks some kindred spirit feeling, or maybe stimulates an intellectual shared interest, a desire to help (or accept help from) another person or just be there for them, have some relaxing fun, whatever. I make no apologies.. I do read profiles and often find some wonderful common ground there, and when I have time will happily follow the posts of friends and potential friends. (I checked out the photo thread too).

As a relative newbie, I've waited to be invited onto buddy lists - I respond to email and pms, but haven't so far initiated much. I expect that will change before too long.

Relationships of any kind require involvement, effort and commitment and are two-way. There must be some degree of consent on the other person's part. People who post in the FG are giving an initial sign of this willingness by being there in the first place, and by putting a few titbits of information in a profile in a public forum on the internet.

Stalking is something very nasty and frightening, and unmistakeable - it's excessive and obsessive - and totally different from showing friendly interest in one's fellow posters.

I know the "core" group that posts the most under general chat best since that's mainly where I post. I wouldn't consider it stalking, it would just make sense that we would "talk" to each other the most!:)

PS If any of you want to add me to your buddy list, let me know, I can never make the first move, even in real life! (I know, I'm a big dork!):o

Stalking...pft I hate that word. People on forums throw it around at the drop of a hat, like it really means something. Someone annoys you ? Call them a stalker. Its not like theyre hiding in the bushes across the street.

I don't stalk. I have posters that I like to read, so I check to see if they're posted. Okay, I get a little upset if they're not logged in, but who doesn't? I've found a quick way to calm down is to print out their old posts, pile them on the floor and lie in them.

We all look at each other's posts, there must be alot of stalking around these threads then....................

Wo cannot resist going to see what Far and Nomad and AC have written, or that hunk Wolfy? And when Minks and Snooze and LC and Lil' and a whole bunch of other names pop up, I read their posts. Gosh, I could go on and on................

Nomad that hat doesn't properly cover your ears. You can still recieve bad waves. You'd better check your book on tin hats 101 and rethink the baseball look. :wah:

Foil and Polo blue cannot be good for your body odor. In fact that smell is starting to affect me on this thread too.

Acc.. I dont reply to your posts because you often hang out on threads that require too much brains for me. Also because you are sort of a celebrity here and I always shy away from being a groupie. I sort of float in my own stream. Im also a bit of? A huge computer idiot. Can you believe I dont know how to tell if any of you are online? I never even look.

Aussie, Bez, and Sunny...... you can all go on my buddy list. I never look at that either. I just get thrilled when I get a notice that Ive been added. I am so self absorbed and selfish.:(

:o Okay, if you look at the little guy in the lower left corner of each post? If it's blue, I'm logged in; if it's red, I'm not. It's no guarantee, since supporting members can "go invisible" and logged on people may not be paying attention, but it's a start.

Thats another thing. Im supposed to be a supporting member. Just yesterday I clicked on a thread and it said. Sorry weeder you do not have permission to go here because you are not a supporting member. I contacted admin. Heard nothing. See Im NOBODY!!!! I say this at the risk of sounding down trodden. Which is .. by the way.. a great companion to needy.:wah:
