Two Boys Missing Since Sunday

police asking the the public for help in finding two Milwaukee, Wisconsin, boys who disappeared last Sunday."We know there's additional information out there," Milwaukee police spokesman Anne E. Schwartz said Saturday. "If someone has provided you with that information, we need you to give us a call."

Quadrevion Henning, 12, and his friend Purvis Parker, 11, were last seen Sunday afternoon as they headed off to play ball at a park near their homes. Extensive searches and numerous tips have yielded no clues to what might have happened to them.

Police are confident, however, that there are people with information who have not come forward.

"If you've been considering calling us with this information, if you're afraid, now is the time. We need you to give us a call," Schwartz said, asking anyone who may have been near the park between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday, "Where were you? What were you doing? What did you see?"

"This is six days, six days that these boys have been missing," she said. "If you think somebody else called, if you think your information isn't important, you're wrong,"

Calls to the police's nationwide tip line can be made anonymously, she said.

"We're putting this out as a general plea," Schwartz said. "Every little tip is a big tip."

Hundreds of tips have poured in, and local businesses have joined the effort, putting the boys' pictures on everything from pizza boxes to billboards, she said. Reward money had reached $35,000 in public and private donations by Saturday afternoon.

Henning is 5-foot-4 and weighs about 110 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded pullover and black jeans.

Parker is 5-foot-1, 120 pounds and was last seen wearing a gray, hooded jacket, gray jogging pants and black tennis shoes.

Police are operating on the belief that Henning and Parker are still in Milwaukee, she said.

Asked if authorities believe they are safe, she said: "What we're hoping to do is get enough information so we can find the boys right now. We don't know where they are. Until we know where they are, we can't say that they're safe."

Both Henning and Parker are reported to be good students and it is not likely that they ran away, according to authorities and family members.

I've read reports where one of the boys' grandfather keeps referring to them in the past tense. I feel that's not a good sign at all.:-1

-- The search for two Milwaukee, Wisconsin, boys reported missing last week has become a criminal investigation, police said Sunday."Canvassing by the task force as well as leads and tips have led us to that conclusion," police spokeswoman Anne Schwartz told reporters.

"As this is a criminal investigation, that will limit the amount of information that you all are going to be receiving."

Quadrevion Henning, 12, and his friend Purvis Parker, 11, were last reported seen March 19 as they headed off to play ball at a park near their homes in north-central Milwaukee.

Despite searches and numerous tips, police say they are mystified by the boys' disappearance.

Schwartz said there was no evidence a crime had been committed, but investigators have determined "an increased possibility" that one took place. She said investigators have not ruled out "any scenarios or possibilities."

Schwartz said hundreds of people have joined the search, and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation has joined the investigation.

She said nothing indicates that Quadrevion and Purvis have left the city, and the effect of the search's new designation as a criminal inquiry was not clear.

"It's all about the focus of the investigation," she said. "At the beginning, this was a search. It's still a search, but the focus now of the search is as a criminal investigation."

Both boys are reported to be good students and are not prone to running away, according to authorities and family members.

Reward offers for their safe return have grown to $35,000, and area businesses have joined the effort, putting the boys' pictures on everything from pizza boxes to billboards.

Police said they have no evidence that any family members are involved in the disappearance, and Schwartz said the families are "tortured" by the ongoing search.

"This is a week, almost a week ago exactly, that Quadrevion's grandfather said, 'Sure, you can play a little longer.' The families are going through hell," she said.

Henning is 5-foot-4 and weighs about 110 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded pullover and black jeans.

Parker is 5-foot-1, 120 pounds and was last seen wearing a gray hooded jacket, gray jogging pants and black tennis shoes.

Milwaukee Brewers Help With Search Efforts

POSTED: 12:36 pm EDT April 6, 2006

UPDATED: 12:58 pm EDT April 6, 2006

MILWAUKEE -- A candlelight prayer vigil is scheduled for Thursday night in Milwaukee for the city's missing children.

It is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church on North 51st Street.

The service comes amidst the search for two missing Milwaukee boys. Purvis Parker, 11, and Quadrevion Henning, 12, have been missing since March 19.

The Milwaukee Brewers are also helping out with the search. The boys' pictures are being shown before and during games at Miller Park. The pictures will also appear outside on the Miller Park's lighted billboard along Interstate 94. On Friday and Saturday Brewers' fans who come to the games will find fliers on their cars with the boys' pictures on them.

NAACP volunteers are handing out the fliers.

Meanwhile, investigators are taking a closer look into the families the boys. Investigators are retracing family members' original stories when the boys first disappeared.

They are also checking family interviews with the media.

Milwaukee police said Monday that they were pulling back their mobile command units which have been used to search for the boys.

Police still have no idea what happened to them.

"We're consolidating all of our operations at the emergency operations center. We don't want anyone in the neighborhood to get the impression or have the idea that we are moving our operations out of there, that we're backing off on the search. That's certainly not the case," Milwaukee Police Department public relations manager Anne Schwartz said.

Milwaukee police and members of the U.S. Army Reserve searched an 11-mile stretch of the Menomonee River Parkway Sunday.

Henning goes to Labrew Troopers Military Academy and wants to be in the Army.

That is partly why the military got involved in the search.

Police said they still have little to go on. Deputy Chief Brian O'Keefe said said they removed computers from the boys' homes Wednesday to see if there was any e-mail activity that could lead them to the boys.

The reward fund is now up near $60,000.

If you have any information about the missing boys call the tip line at (877) 628-3804.

the EMERGENCY BROADCAST FAX program, part of the NALC/USPS CHILD ALERT PROGRAM should have been issued as soon as the missing child report was made (see the thread titled OPRAH in the missing children forum). if the EMERGENCY BROADCAST FAX system was working the way it is intended and instructed, every post office in the country would have a photo/id flyer of the two missing boys displayed in the post office lobby, workroom floor area and other postal facility (within 24 hours of their disappearance). there's no better search and rescue system than having every letter carrier on the alert and lookout for the missing, they go to every building in town.

Two Boys Missing Since Sunday

CNN) -- Two decomposed bodies were found Friday night in a lagoon where searchers have looked for two Milwaukee, Wisconsin, boys who disappeared nearly a month ago, police said.Milwaukee Police Chief Nan Hegerty said the bodies had not been identified.

Quadrevion Henning, 12, and Purvis Parker, 11, were last seen March 19 as they headed off to play ball at a park near their homes in north-central Milwaukee.

"I'm not going to make any identification until we're sure," Hegerty said.

"It looks like the body has been in the lagoon for quite some time," she said after the first body was found. The initial examination could not determine that body's race or whether it had suffered any trauma, she said.

Autopsies are planned for Saturday morning, after which identifications may be made, she said.

After the boys disappeared, the park around the lagoon was searched at least three times by officers on foot, and a dive team searched the water, Hegerty said.

The first body was discovered Friday night by a man and his son who were walking through the park and saw the body floating on the water, she said. The second body was found a short time later.
