You are correct. However, what do you do when your opponent (and I use that word carefully) is in the wrong. Let's talk Iran here. They now have Nuclear technology. Maybe they will use to heat their homes. Do you REALLY believe that? If not, what do you suggest? Send them a box of chocolates? War is horrendous. Mothers lose sons, sons lose fathers ....... it should be outlawed ...... but what is the alternative against an aggressor who is adamant that the western world should be obliterated. I don't have the answer and I do not envy those that have to make the decisions.
