Anyone there - again?!

Post by meltonpie »

It's 7 a.m. in the morning here in England .......... which is just the same as yesterday, but this morning I am stuffed up with cold and feeling lousy, but then I'm male, so we always make out our ailments are much worse than they really are. Is that true - are men really a bunch of babies when it comes to a bit of illness?

Now, shall I go back to bed ..........? Groan! :-1

No, you should not go back to bed!! You should make yourself a hot cup of tea, bundle up in some warm 'jammies, and yak with the few of us who are here.

And it is true with my hubby that he is a huge baby when he's sick. Pain? No big deal, he muddles through, but being sick? You'd think he was 3. :yh_rotfl

I've had the mug of tea, but I'm half-way up the stairs. You are real cruel about your husband - you just don't understand how poorly we are! Isn't anyone sympathetic? Groan! Groan! (Two this time)

You need fresh air and a walk in the country. A few miles round Launde Abbey would set you up for the day.

That's a myth, pure and simple. The truth is that men catch far stronger diseases than women do, so it only seems that we're whining. Actually, we're far, far sicker than the women realize ... though some women instinctively understand and compensate nicely with cool towels, hot tea, and a soothing kiss on the forehead. Ours were a family of 20, and the mere concept of so much as a whole potato each never entered our heads. Mind you, were were content with what we had in those days, none of this pop music malarky to stir up discontent in the household. We'd sit round the washtub banging time with our forks singing The Lord's My Shepherd, and whoever was still in tune after two verses got scrapings.

I spent the first 10 years of my life underground looking after pit ponys....I was so black no one knew I was there and I had to live on the ponies food and water. When the ponies were rescued I was out of a job so they used me check the air because they ran out of canaries....:yh_sad
