Where are you holidaying this year?

Post by redman »

We are a bit restricted as I have a 93year old Ma-in law who we take with us and a 12year old min shznauzer dog,so we shall have to stay in little old England.

We are going to stay in a bugalow overlooking the sea, just outside Bournemouth

its a lovely area what with the New Forest as well.

The wife and I used to go to Barbados or Italy but shall have to wait for circumstances to change before we get on that band wagon again,

anyway, where are all you peeps going?

Australia, to visit my stepdaughter who emigrated last year with her family. They are up near Cairns at the moment, but after that will have to go to Adelaide where they have an obligatory two years to do, so next time we visit them we'll see another part of Oz. This time we'll be 'doing' Queensland.

My daughter and I will also visit my niece in Launceston, Tasmania, for a couple of days.

We're doing it all this year because our daughter is doing her GCSEs and this'll probably be our last family holiday.

Hi, Redman. We moved back to the UK from the States last year. We are off to California later in the year for a vacation.

We live in the New Forest. Where will you be staying?

I'm going camping with my parents at the end of July. We are just going to Ute Park in New Mexico. I'm excited because I love taking pictures of all the wildlife. I'm just a little worried bout the bears. :-3

A long weekend with my brother in Essex is planned and I might take a short break somewhere yet to be decided later in the year.......Now if I was to win the lottery next week, I would be straight on a plane to Hawaii my dream destination.

oooo gosh it was so "whirl wind" I am slowly working on my pictoral, just friday I got about half of my 645 pics rotated and reduced so am working on a decent presentation for you.

Paris was lovely CG. Very romantic. The food was spectacular, We did make it to Versailles Sunday and it was stunning. I do have it in my agenda to go back. I will have a better run down for you soon.

This was kind of exciting for me, 2 yrs ago we went to Wyoming. We were hiking up in the mountains and I climbed a craggy rock to get a view of a valley below, lots of boulders and hidden areas around. Im standing there and I hear a kind of strained whine or squeal. It took me a few seconds to figure out it was a bear cub about 15' below me, it was very close and it must have heard me. Then it took me a few seconds more to realize if theres a cub theres a momma, thats when my heart started thumping :wah:

I moved out as fast as I could but you can only move so fast on the side of a mountain.

Look for signs like droppings and tree scratchings and dont carry food with you if you hike. (they like food)

I know to keep my food put up and such. It's just that where my parents always camp, the restroom doors open to the inside, instead of you having to pull to open them. So I'm afraid of getting up in middle of night for a restroom break and walking in on a bear, or a bear walking in on me.

:-2

So if on the news come bout the end of July, you hear bout some women getting her large arse stuck in a bathroom window while trying to escape a bear, it's more and likely your pal from FG, me. :D

We will probably just plan a long weekend get a way somewhere. We would either go to Gettysburg Pennsylvania (location of Civil War battle) as Rick is a Civil War nut. Or we will go to the NFL Hall of Fame Museum in Canton, Ohio.

My son will be here tonight, from New Orleans. We are going to South Padre Island this weekend. We will camp on the beach and go to schlitterbahn at Port Isabel. I will have pictures and video.

Footnote:[/I]Port Isabel is five hours south of here. It is in the part of Texas that extends into Central America.

Well I've already had my holiday for the year meeting all the great FG folk in London. We were hoping to have another US family trip, but that has been put on hold, because every electrical appliance in the house has decided to pack up, causing my dad to spend a ton of money on repairs or on a newer model, (which to be honest we needed in most cases anyway,) which all in all means no US trip for me boo. :(

They use a litter box, they are potty trained, just like a cat.

Very nice pets, my two are very sweet. I let them out a couple of hours every day, to run around, jump and play.
