You win a war with a Kiwi by your side!
New Zealand troops rock Dili with haka war dance
New Zealand troops announced their arrival in Dili with a fearsome haka today, sending clouds of dust over the troubled East Timor capital as they stamped their feet in the traditional Maori war dance.
While the Kiwis have been on patrol in the dangerous Becora area since early last week, they performed the ceremony today as a formal greeting to Australia's Brigadier Mick Slater, who commands international troops in the city.
"Kamate, kamate - ka ora ka ora (I die, I die -- I live, I live)," a group of 30 New Zealand troops roared, thumping their chests in unison and shaking the ground with their stomping as Brigadier Slater looked on.
"If we could get everyone in the joint task force to show that type of controlled aggression, we would have this thing licked in no time," Brigadier Slater told them after the performance.
"I'd like to see that same demonstration, a big haka with the whole company downtown, it might change the whole tone of this city."
The Australian-led task force of more than 2,200 troops has struggled to contain gang violence in Dili, although the New Zealand contingent of about 140 appears to have calmed Becora, once regarded as a major hotspot.
Take care,
Gordon.

If you define cowardice as running away at the first sign of danger, screaming and tripping and begging for mercy, then yes, Mr. Brave man, I guess I'm a coward. Thats what I think about war pal.

I think that is a nasty reply and an insult to the Kiwis.
I'm not in favour of war either.
But the Timor problem is not war. Perhaps you should study a bit of history and current events.
And to insult the Kiwis is a gross offence which I cannot ignore. They are a small, proud nation of very friendly and kind people. Many of them leave their houses unlocked when they go shopping. Not like the USA.
So go back to your hole, Mr worm, and do some research before you condemn and trivialise a nation!
And if you cannot be polite and courteous, please leave FG to those who are!

First this comment:

And then in practically the same breath, THIS comment???!?!

3 words: Pot, kettle, black
You are indeed far too sensitive and do not understand fully the scope of characters here, gordon.
And then to start 2 new threads about members "owing" apologies? Who are you to demand apologies, especially when you don't understand the intent of the post in the first place?

I am not a New Zealander.
My original post was a copy of a news item which, I believe, paid credit to the Kiwis.
Why I and the New Zealanders in their absence were derided shows at best bad manners and at worse!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I said the same thing about the USA on a US chat or forum I would be banned. It seems OK to can the Kiwis behind their backs but one dares not to criticise the USA.
Some morals!!!!!!
Take care,
Gordon.

Don't be thick, Gordon. Nomad derided no one but himself. You owe him an apology in this thread as well as this one.
I will be glad to remind you until it happens, if you wish.

My family hasnt locked their doors in 15 years. In-fact, our back door knob is broken and anyone can enter.

That's true KS, where I live now I do not lock my door. I used to all the time in L.A. I have to remind myself at bedtime to lock it, even though there is no need.

I think all of the inner big citys give America a bad name. Out in the Suburbs of most citys its rather crime free.....
we may get an occasional streaker,...
but nothing to "lock doors" over, like a bunch of neurotic exxagerates.
