Saddly Sold my old friend!

Post by cars »

Yesterday, saddly I sold my old friend, a (used, "not" abused) 97 Pontiac Grand Prix with 89,068 miles on it, & it still looked like new! I know it sounds strange, but it got to be like an old friend to me, as it took me through some pretty nasty New England weather, year after year, (9yrs-10mos) & never getting stuck! My old friend had "Studded" Snow tires that allowed me to make it up many hills, where I passed 4x4's that could not make it up that hill. I always used to park my old friend the furthest car away from any other cars in public parking lots. Therefore, it did not have any dents & or dings from other car doors hitting it. The paint was shinny, (As it was always waxed) & the custom wheels were bright! The Husband & Wife that bought it were estatic, as they could not afford to buy a new car, but they bought "my old friend" that looked new, & was in mechanically perfect condition! It made me feel good to make them so happy!!!:)

(I still miss my old friend though:wah: )

(Now need to start looking for a new car, will look into the hybrids)

I also had a 71, & a 75 Grand prix, both great cars! I got many miles out of both of them. I traided the 75 prix in for a brand new 82 buick Riveria. What a beauty that was, beige, with beige landau roof, beige leather, wire wheels & white walls. It was such a beauty, that in 92, some SOB stole it (a "10 yr old car" but in mint comdition) in NYC while I was at a wedding having a blast, until it was time to go home & then I found out my beauty was gone!!:-1

Just know that someone else will love it as much as you did, as was probably outside at 6 am polishing it. I would have been.

Thanks pink, I know it sounds funny, but I did get kinda attached to my car, & it really did feel a little like a friend. It the cold wintery "-10" degree weather, I would be starting it, saying c'mon baby start! And start "she" did, & always did start, "she" never let me down! :)

I put water in it the other day - 6 litres it took! It was completely dry, it had been empty for weeks because I forget to do that sort of stuff, but it still took me to work every day. I'm surprised it hasn't fallen apart yet, the way I drive it! I think it likes me...

Some great names there koo, ;) & as for the bombiest car, when you go to the gas station, tell them to "fill up the water" & "check" the gas! :p
