....and I have no idea if it's even possible. What about a drop-down box at the "Today's Posts" button, so that you can jump to whichever page you want? I know when I exhaust the first page and am ready to move onto the next 2 or 3 or 4 pages, it's a bit inconvenient to have to go back to page 1 and re-click to get to page 2, then 3 etc, etc....

Does my suggestion even make sense???? I know what I mean, but I don't know if I'm conveying it correctly.

It's not even THAT big of a deal, just an idea.

Sounds like a great idea. I do not see why that would not work.

Exactly the same problem I was trying to approach with my ignore thread query - knock out the ones you're not interested in and the second page will come to you :-)

Not to me it doesn't, but that doesn't mean a whole lot. :yh_rotfl

I've tried to imagine what you do, BR, but I can't get it. You click Today's Posts, you get a list, you go into a message and then Back, then into another message and then Back, and finally you want another page? You have the eg: "Showing results 1 to 25 of 56: Page 1 of 3 1 2 3 >" hyperlinks at the top and bottom of the list. If you're on Page 2 the links are still there. Why do you need to go back to Page 1?

I did wonder whether you were navigating between threads with "Next/Previous Post" but that only takes you to posts in the same area, not by time order across all the areas. I don't know another way of switching from a post to the next post in time order other than to use the Back button to the Today's Posts list. So what are you doing that I haven't worked out?

I just want to be able to go to whichever page of the new posts that I want to.

When I'm replying to or reading a thread, and then want to go check out the next thread, if I'm already on page 2 of the new posts, I still have to go to "Today's Posts" and then to the page I was on. With a drop down box of each page number, it's a more direct route.

Not when you've posted in the thread, because it takes you back through the reply window, etc....

Well, all the buttons are there for you to have exactly the same effect as what you're looking for. Have a think how it can get fewer strokes than this...

Click "Today's posts", click a message.

For "next message" when you've read it, click Back and click a message. If you were at the end of a list, click the number hyperlink for the next page before clicking the next message.

When you post, click the pull-down arrow next to "Back" and click the two-screens-back line to get straight to the list again. That's the same moves as making Today's Posts a pull-down menu and selecting a page number.

That all exists now. I can't see any possible procedure with fewer clicks unless you change the context meaning of hyperlinks for next and previous post - if you made that change then there's just one click forwards and backwards every time.

I agree, Spot:)

That's how I've always done it.

But unfortunately, my vast computer knowledge ends there:-3
